For me it's to procrastinate and to talk with people who I can relate to. Normies are just so tiresome to talk with all the time, I can blend in for a bit but I also need time to be autistic. And hell I learn cool shit on here sometimes and save tons of awesome pics so it's not all bad.
I never came here to be an incel or a Jow Forumstard or any kind of stupid bullshit label. I came in hopes of maybe living out a remnant of the old internet that I am too young to have witnessed myself where creativity and freedom reined supreme.

Partially. Jow Forums just anyone "underground" and "atypical" by any standards, not the weirdest of the weird or anything. It's definitely still below reddit in terms of normies, but some boards nowadays aren't very far off from reddit. /mu/ is full of zoomers talking about normie SoundCloud rappers when in 2012, pretty much everything discussed there was very artsy.
I saw my dad's bookmarks on his computer and he had fucking Jow Forums and r/the_donald on there, so obviously we're in a different situation than we have been in the past. But I think Jow Forums and /tv/ for example holds onto a unique Jow Forums culture. Definitely not the Jow Forums of old, but something distinct from normie internet

Slow boards are the best ones cuz normies can't handle the constant checking and waiting you have to do. I'm studying graphic design and /gd/ has some occasionally hilarious stuff on it but the same threads are literally up for 6+ months at a time. Hell I used to post on /his/ a lot but it's gotten too shit to bear lately. This summer was a brutal one desu.
