City life is comfort. Rural/actual smalltown life is suffering. It's just not eating when the pantry is empty and the road is buried in snow. It's understanding that if you were too lazy two summers ago and didn't cut enough firewood, you'll just have to learn to sleep in the cold. It's patching the same hole in your jeans for the third time, hand-stitched. It's seeing the heat shimmer off the plains in July as your carburetor gives out and understanding that if you pass out walking home you might just die.
Fuck off back to your cities and bars, your Netflix and public utilities, your police patrolcars and radio stations.
