Swedish towns just have no drinking zones. Usually the city centre and around shops etc.
Other than that it's pretty much legal to drink anywhere.

It recently became a widespread issue and a lot of American cities made zones where you can carry an open beverage container on the sidewalk.
Still, though, the average american city has a small downtown with people out walking on the sidewalk so in the vast majority of the city you cannot carry an open beverage on the street.
It's technically not legal in my neighborhood (which is just outside of downtown) but I walk my dog with a beer frequently and police don't seem to care. I'm not stupid about it though

You should read up on the laws again. Most countries prohibit alcohol usage on the road and by extension sidewalks are technically part of the road.
In reality of course nobody is going to enforce that

Alright. I don't think we have any no alcohol laws but there is a ban on public intoxication (once again pretty odd seeing how this should ban going out) which of course is only applied to get rid of annoying people causing trouble.
