Whats the deal with western Chinese looking so different from fobby Chinese?
I refuse to accept that the only difference is makeup, they look like they have different facial structures entirely.

No, makeup and styling make a pretty big difference. That aside, diet and lifestyle. Westernized Asians tend to work out, for example. Also remember that Westernized ones tend to come from money, and it's pretty common that rich and poor people tend to look a bit different.

Oh and I should mention a lot of Western Asians will get their fucked up teeth fixed, so it can change how their jaws/facial structure looks.

I read a really interesting article a while back that the way you think and the culture you grow up in literally shapes your face. This is why western asians look more familiar' then fobby ones.

While some might that isn't always true, and a lot of them might be from relatively new money too, while the western ones tend to be from families that were richer longer.

Another factor is that western Asians tend to get more American style plastic surgery while fobs of course get more Asian style surgeries. This is something you see more with Koreans though, it's actually interesting how shockingly different western Koreans look from fob Koreans.

That's completely wrong. One of the main reasons China was able to unite so early in history was because of how similar the cultures were between the warring states.

Not really for northern China and later dynasties required all government officials to speak the dialect of the capital. Anyways, the written language was the same regardless of province so oral language didn't matter that much for communication.
