This one is kinda strange, iemand leuk vinden can mean a broad range of things from thinking someone is genuinely funny or to fancy someone. None of these would apply to your bed, unless you are trying to convey that a bed which was supposed to make you laugh/happy.

I usually read at least one article a day about idioms and common phrases/conventions. I try to read multiple news or Wiki articles in French throughout the day and see how much I understand or recognize. In the evening I use Duolingo and shitpost in /fr/

Learning the alphabet is easy lol but you're not gonna be able to 'read it' with any degree of comprehension without serious study. This isn't Italian or Spanish we're talking about.

Can anybody offer any advice for myself learning Brazilian Portuguese? I'm planning on visiting my girlfriend in Rio de Janeiro soon and while her English is great, sometimes she can't express herself accurately without Portuguese. Whereas in English I always just read left to right and I perceive it fine because I'm used to this english order, I have found that with pt-br, it's not like you don't read from left to right still, it is just that your brain interprets something like "vestidos novos" as quickly as I interpret "new dresses"
