>he's retiring next year
H-hold me guys
He's retiring next year
>ywn have a drink with papa Junker
>you will never go out with him for a night of beer and banter
It hurts
surprised he wasn't fired when he showed up shitfaced at a meeting with world leaders
He suffers from nerve damage
He likes to drink but wasn't drunk in that occasion
It's really weird having no dog in the fight of the EU. Like it doesn't affect us at all so I don't know who to root for
noo this cant be happening
Very, very good...
Who will replace him? Tusk?
We have elctions next year so whoever wins them
Most likely the leading candidate of the EPP, but we don't know who it will be yet.
He will be remembered as the president under who Frontex deployed border guards for the first time in a member state.
I hope the next president is either The Beast or Vestager. Vestager has Alde and Macron backing her.
He is a fucking idiot.
Rumors say it may be this guy
That assumes that schpitzencandidat is respected, but too many parties are tired of the EPP winning and Macron has said he doesn't care for the system.
EPP is also taking hits in many national ellections.
Officially, Manfred Weber and Alexander Stubb have already anounced their candidacy.
The Spitzenkandidaten is suppoerted by the Commission. The Europarliament already said it won't accept candidates that are not leaders of the main parties
You're right, but I still think it's the most likely outcome.
our media is shilling him
>I care about politics
>he will be remembered
>President of the EU Councilcommissionwhatever and former mayor of some fake country
lol
If EUparl hold up, nobody can stop them. I'm just not convinced it's sure thing.
They said that the spitzenkanidaten system shall become the standard in all EU elections
Compared to previous presidents he is memorable. Though overall nobody but those interested in EU politics will remember him much - true.
Is there really no English word for Spitzenkandidat?
kek
Something like "main candidate" I think? Lol
It just entered the EU jargon so we just use it
I think it's accepted to use the german word in every country.
Ah yes. The EU democracy
>EU democracy
Yes, and?
You can say what you wan't, but it's a hell of a lot more democratic than the house of lords.
Imho it's also a lot more democratic than most 2-party systems.
Isn't it the principle used in every parliamentary republic?
>a fucking Cai-Göran
Backwards and undemocratic compared to what we have. Why do we have to lower ourselves to same level as *nglos or what ever the rest have
No, I think it's unique to the EU actually.
In most places the biggest party get the first attempt at forming a government, but nowhere is it guaranteed the head position.
What's more the way the commission is proposed by an outside body is also weird as fuck as far as systems go. But the EU wasn't intended to be ran by it self so there is that.
Sweden is supporting him
I think we have our own candidate. Some woman, can't remember her name
Only one way to deal with wannabee dictators.
>Backwards and undemocratic compared to what we have.
How?
It's pretty much the same system that is used in Austria and Germany.
They told two separate excuses for that incident, he was obviously drunk
the man is getting older, time for another him now, with a real european politician thing going, without a focus on money.
You now we own you guys, right? This is going to get unified either way... big Union, small Union. Don't even matter.
I'll miss him. He's the perfect villain
who
The guy who fucked Theresa meme in the ass
Exactly. It's undemocratic if the largest group decides who is at charge. Sad if you have it like that
It is known that he had a serious car accident when he was younger and stayed in come for a while too
>in come
in a coma
Haha, bongoloids must be seething
>drunk
nah people like him don't do stupid bullshit like that
It's not like they can just impose their candidate on everyone.
They still need a majority in the EP.
Or would you like more influence in the selection of the parties candidate itself?
The EU parties are fucked up. Our centre party which is fairly conservative in most issues is in fucking ALDE. EU politics is like a bizarro world
t. other finn
In France we have the concept for other elections and an existing term, "tête de liste", but in the context of the EU (only) "Spitzenkandidat" has become widespread.
Farage
Juncker himself said he was suffering from a leg cramp and others said he had back pains. The fact that they can't keep the story straight indicates that they are lying
Rest in piss, asshole commie
About time
>we live in a Union
>Spitzenkandidat
How do french pronounce this?
Vocaroo pls :3
Tusk is a joke, he wouldn't wipe his own ass without mama Merkel's help
Alde are more free market liberals then refugee loving liberals imo.
Jean Claude Endanger
We had a whole thread of Jean Claude edits in another chan, but I saved almost nothing
And our centre party has been pretty much into state owned enterprises, not so much free market
how is that the EU's fault?
I mean I wouldn't put them into the free market spectrum of politics
Then it is weird. I actually agree with your initial observation, but I would have pointed to the EPP first.
I didn't say it was. I'm another Finngol
It's just you don't know what you're voting for. Most people are ignorant about EU politics not that it's EU fault. EU elections has by far the lowest vote rate
I do speak German so I pronounce it correctly, if with a bit of le französischer Akzent ;)
Nice job introducing a word in the EU jargon btw, especially since there's already an existing French term.
Yeah our Swedish party which is market liberal is in alde also, but here in Finland their policies differ a lot. It's indeed like a bizarro world
Our alde party is the party of ethnic minorities that will ally with anybody as long as they can feed their affiliated companies through public works.
The other parties do fit their EU party, reds are s&d, pro-EU blues are EPP, nationalistist are with whatever their EU party was.
But how is this said in Media.
Like they for sure don't say it as we do.
based
Journalists who don't know how to pronounce it use "tête de liste" which is an exact equivalent and has been in use for a long time. The others pronounce it the right way. But it's recent here (only since the 2014 European elections) and maybe it won't stick.
Sweden mentioned +1
I get all that, but if it comes down to "let's end the EU, because people are too stupid and too lazy to give a shit", I'd rather just end humanity as a whole.
I think that brexit shows that the EU isn't just some inconvenient bureaucracy that costs a lot of money and holds us all back.
In todays political discourse the argument "they're all shit anyway" is too often seen as a legitimate one and left unchallenged, because it's easy to say and requires no effort from the voter.
>implying being free market is conservative
>He is a fucking idiot.
>I think that brexit shows that the EU isn't just some inconvenient bureaucracy that costs a lot of money and holds us all back
Absolutely. And the EU does *not* cost a lot of money anyway. The EU "army" of bureaucrats is smaller than Paris army (which admittedly may be bloated, but still is supported by a single city).
I'm pretty pro EU but it needs some reforms. And most of all. People needs to be educated more about it. Too often EU gets the blame for shit our own domestic parliament does.
I dunno if things has changed, but when I was in high school 10 years ago there wasn't much education about EU and how it works.
If they weren't so pro immigration I'd vote for them.
t. cai göran
Hope he dies soon
painfully
Based Junker
And boy did he deliver on that promise...
>we'll make your lives a misery
It's not like we're making them. They knew what they got themselves into. Getting the treatment like any non-eu member.
Trump.
>mfw fucking moldavia cockblocked britain trying to enter some alternate trade zone thing
bloomberg.com
so much for the glory of britannia ahahahahahahahaha
And only because the Anglo, in its arrogance, denied her access to the UK for some WTO talks lmao
Sic transit gloria mundi
oh they're still arrogant assholes
aside from moldova blocking them for being gigantic douchebags, other nations also blocked it (most notably the US) because the anglos didn't even file the proper paperwork, thinking they could just walk in like they owned the place and would be thanked for it (the justification being - we were part of this before we were in the EU so we don't need to refile for membership)
>Corina Cocojaru
will be remembered along Napoleon and Hitler for centuries in England
Pay denbts
no u
Why does the article stop when it gets to the truth?
it is also true that you never pay debts or reparations
Will he finally destroy the EU?
fantasy debnts are not real debnts.
for you
By that logic I demand three gorillion euromonies for the wars waged by alexander the great.
Pay denbts!
