Visited Paris twice(there was a pretty time big gap between visits), and last year I spent two weeks in Southern France(went to Marseille, Cannes, Nice and Monaco)

If you visit the Loire valley, you'll see a lot of Renaissance castles and the Tank museum in Saumur, which houses this beauty

Attached: Somua_S35_Saumur.jpg (445x322, 29K)

>Loire valley
i really want to cycle round the valley to see castles. can you recommend me some other than Chambord and that chateau with the unique aqueduct(?)

thanks for the advice user, I do love a good war museum

Attached: tank porn.gif (327x194, 2.46M)

Depends, what kind of castle do you want to visit? There's everything on the Loire valley, from Renaissance style châteaux to literal fortresses

Well it's a matter of taste, really. I like Azay-le-rideau, myself.
But all the castles are packed close together.
The area has a pleasant landscape and climate, too.

Attached: azay-le-rideau.jpg (1272x1175, 587K)

i'd like to know some of underrated chateaux in Loire from each period of architecture style as i know little about French castle history.

added, desu. really comfy

nada mais nojento e asqueroso

If you're a Girls und Panzer fan, the Saumur museum not only has a FT-17 and Somua S-35, but also one of the only two intact ARL-44.
The other is the one on that pic, but it's a monument in a military camp in Mourmelon.

Attached: ARL-44_Mourmelon.jpg (1280x960, 371K)

It kinda looks a Final Fantasy castle.

Attached: tycoon-castle-FFV.gif (256x224, 13K)

You can see a bunch of them in a short time.
It takes less than 3 hours to drive along the river from Orléans to Nantes. So in a few days, you can see almost all of them.

Attached: carte_chateaux_loire.gif (926x436, 53K)

And Saumur with its castle, famed cavalry school (the "cadre noir") and tank museum is right in the middle of this.
Also the town itself is pretty nice, look at this

fantastic, i'd pitch a tent and sleep rough in Loire during the trip

Et moi aussi, j'adore la France mais j'espere que la France encore était une Monarchie. L'idéaux des fraternité, égalité, et liberté tombent. Le temps est venu pour un Roi ou une Reine en France.

There probably are camping sites all over the place, which provide electricity and running water for a small fee and you get to meet campers from all over the world.
Or of course they have a lot of hotels and restaurants, it's a popular tourist spot.

>ff5
well, it's a cultural monument which rivals the Loire castles IMO. Did you know that video games are officially classified as an art in France (the 10th art), and designer can get knighted in the prestigious order "des arts et des lettres" like celebrated writers?
Pic is Miyamoto getting knighted by our minister of culture of the time - he's a "chevalier" in France! I hope Sakaguchi becomes one someday, if not already done.

will definitely put the Loire region on my list of places to visit

Nan, on s'est juste habitués avec le temps, mais ils sont toujours vivants, voir

Canada's only really unique style of architecture is the Château style, like all good things in Canada it's a harmonious mix of French and Anglo, in this case the English Victorian Gothic Revival style and the castles of the Loire Valley in France.

>camp
glad i heard that, i can hold back my autism when i'm speaking English so it'll be fun af. also Saumur is beautiful de ouf desu
>games
La France est culturellement tellement tolérante au point que des des créateurs des vidéo games peuvent prendre cette hommages... Étonnant desu

The Saumur museum is listed in GuP das Finale's credits, actually!

Murmurer à Saumur, j'en rêve

i will never be able to enjoy france like foreigners do

i wish i were japanese

Well, at first there were the six classical arts,
Then cinema was added as the 7th
Then bandes dessinées (comics, manga) the 8th
Photography and TV performance became the 9th
Video games became the 10th about 12 years ago

It's important because it means awards and possibly public funding.

Where do I find love in France?

Attached: 1517933729136.jpg (1011x1276, 217K)

>i wish i were japanese
other than peer pressure and hellish working conditions it's not that bad desu. sushi is GOAT
i see, it has somewhat profitable merits to regard it as an art, but still it's unique

Move to France, you can enjoy cool Japanese media while having a comfy and lazy lifestyle.
If you have a bit of money, you can live without a job in places like a Dordogne village (pic ; it's Argentat).

Attached: La-Dordogne-a-Argentat.jpg (2000x667, 408K)

I really appreciate how much effort they put into making the tanks look as close as possible to their real world counterparts
the guys behind GuP should be real proud of their work

Love is in the air
It's on every corner
Just prick up your ears
Can't you hear it draw closer?

(Hey I just improvised this in twenty secs. Am I good or what? not my native language, to boot).

As a French tankist (I did my military service in the 2nd Armored), I appreciate how they made one of the French teams not crummy. Having the other one beat by Anzio stung a little.

"Chant de l'oignon" is a poor choice for a song, though. "Au pas" is really an infantry thing.

Je voudrais habiter à une campagne française, étudient la langue confortablement. Cependant je suis confiné dans cette société enfin ma couille
>Argentat
wow i went to a place only 20km away from the village

Légion songs are even less suited to armored units, since the Légion walks slower than other military units (only 88 steps a minute, as compared with 120 for most units, and 140 for alpine and "chasseur" (light) units)

>"Chant de l'oignon" is a poor choice for a song, though.
I think they were going for a Katyusha moment like the one in season 1
i.4cdn.org/wsg/1540155608188.webm
btw how's their french? It sounds like Oshida's voice actress has real trouble pronouncing things but I'd like a French opinion

Attached: Oshida.jpg (423x724, 37K)

based, didn't expect i'd meet an actual French military man. what does le Bousin basically imply by the lyrics ?

>I think they were going for a Katyusha moment like the one in season 1
Yeah, the sequence is real nice. But the song was poorly chosen.

>btw how's their french?
It's really bad in the beginning of the song, it's okay after that. I don't remember them speaking French during the OAV, so I can't comment on that. Usually even talented seiyuu's French is cringeworthy. I'm a huge Kotono Mitsuishi fan, but hearing hear "speak" French in GTO... ugh.

>an actual French military man
Not really, in my time we had mandatory military service for all fit males (10 months usually), and I managed through political connections to end up in the 2nd Armored, specifically 2ème RCS (the command and support regiment) at Versailles.
For most of the time, I served as a gas station manager and fuel accountant, only for military vehicles.

>boudin
I can't say for sure. At face value, it's about getting blood sausages for dinner. Expect for the "Belgians" who shoot people in the butt.
I've heard "boudin" is also colloquial for the rolled-up sleeping bag on the Legion.
It's also colloquial for "poop", so there may be more to the song than we guess ;)

>It's really bad
shame to hear that
a Russian user told me that Nonna's voice actress speaks really good Russian for a Japanese so I thought maybe they would have done the same for the French...

Attached: ww1 Andou.jpg (2489x3521, 342K)

Nonna's voice actress is a special case: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumire_Uesaka
>She majored in the Russian language[4] and announced that she had graduated on March 27, 2014.
>She has great interest in Russia and the Soviet Union. Since hearing the State Anthem of the USSR in her first year of high school, she immersed herself in Russian studies. She finally visited the country in November 2013, giving a concert at the Moscow Japanese pop culture festival J-Fest.

Attached: 1536218327970.png (707x1000, 375K)

She voices both Nonna and Hoshino Kikko? nice range.

>Expect for the "Belgians" who shoot people in the butt.
I think it's supposed to be a way to calm them lazy, as the Belgian king at the time forbade the Belgians from joining the FFL.

Yeah, there are 3 theories about that song, and that is one of them : during the Franco-Prussian war, the King of the Belgians forbade Belgians in the Legion to fight. So the legionnaires leaving for the front would sing that song to their Belgian comrades who stayed behind.

But nobody knows for sure what the song is about, really. Plus, the legion doesn't have tanks (only APCs and recon cars), so that song wouldn't have done the trick for GuP.

"On va leur percer le flanc" would have been a good choice I think ("we're going to flank them, and have a good laugh").
