Hey, I’m not knocking it I’m just surprised. Our history has a euro-centric focus with light brush ups on important things like Babylonia or early Chinese dynasties. Most will focus on Athens or Rome and continue into the Middle Ages, but never African culture besides Mali if you’re lucky.

We used to have these periods in school called "theme". It was when the class focused on one certain era for a month. That included the Viking era. It's not really officially called the Viking era, but it's well known to be just that.
We made our own rune stones and such. That's about what I remember.
It's not as dystopian here as you think. I learned alot of our history and folklore from the kids channel.
