Europenas don't have to fear anything anymore. Since the US doesn't wanna start a nuclear argument about us anymore, he has less and less reason to be aggressive. In fact the vlad found us bored and distraced when he was invading Crimea.

The Russians are as dirty as we are, this is maybe going to be the next big thing for us if the US continues killing itself, and I am not even talking Trump here.

By this analysis, I determine that Russia is the power with the most potential to be a threat but also the most likely to fall apart and neither outcome is good. The economy is fragile and their leadership is corrupt and the nation lives on borrowed time.

China is playing the long game, investing in Africas future population boom and delicately balancing internal affairs but is pretty internally stable. Their biggest issues right now is managing influence over belt and road nations and their bordering advisories (primarily India and Russia who they have a love hate relationship with). They continue to try to balance between Russia and USA, trying not to anger either too much but also not give either too big an advantage and benefit from them being at odds with one another

USA struggles to maintain overextended influence as well as secure resources and stability in the middle east in particular. The ongoing cold war between Saudi Arabia and Iran continues to present issues to this as they are often forced to offer support to future advosaries to try to maintain their alliances (example being attempting to keep stability in Iraq even though their elected leader is pro-iran or funding Saudis to fight Yemen while they also support the Sunni extremists we end up fighting). As we enter the 18th year of the Afghan war, it becomes clear that we are being dragged further and further into the forever war that is the struggle for the borderlands of the global island. All this happens while we struggle with internal divisions and strife as the upper-most echelons of society increasing gain influence over the government and economy at the expense of the increasingly poorer and more discontent working class.

The relationships lesser nations have to these 3 powers effectively determines their policies and futures. This simplification effectively paints the current geopolitical state of the world today.

Russia is a menace to the EU? they have less than 1/3rd the population and 1/10th the GDP... and that's only with selling raw materials to the EU, which would stop in case of war.
They have to be watched closely for petty tricks like hacking and assassinations, but that's all.

Power finds a place to rest it's head. The world is too interconnected for a major collapse barring a catastrophe and it would effect everybody. It's a careful balancing act.
