Do Euros not learn colours when they are 2 or 3 years old? There are many colours, all somewhat based on the 3 primary colours of red, yellow, and blue. True white is the absence of colour while black is equal measures of all colouration.
Colloquially we refer to the genetically palest people as white and the genetically darkest as black. People described as white also generally have a higher likelihood of light hair or eyes.
Not coincidentally people from particular geographic regions often tend to be a similar shade of colour between white and black.
Exceptions of course occur but this is a stable framework overall.
