No joking or irony: why is California bad? From an outsider's perspective it seems like a state with good climate/scenery and a relatively strong economy. Sure, the cities suffer from homeless/high housing prices, but that's pretty much every major anglophone city (Vancouver, Sydney etc) and the state is big enough for you to move somewhere with less people. Is it just because it's left-wing or am I missing something else?

Don’t forget the people who move to a different state to get away from California and then go and vote for the same things that made California shitty in the first place
It has a lot to do with ethnic makeup. Like half the state is Hispanic and a third is Asian and black. It's basically the future of the entire country.
