I want to become a programmer!

it's sad that such a mind-numbingly retarded job is actually one of the best jobs one can realistically aim for in this day and age

How is it retarded?

yep please explain yourself Mr.56

Coding isn't hard, it's just keeping track of a bunch of tedious details.
Perhaps you will have some fun creative challenges at a top tier company, but most programmers are code monkeys.

Attached: 1481024391455.png (694x801, 82K)

you should have started 20 years ago... if you haven't, then you're not a programmer and just a script kiddy

This post is so fucking cringe...

Sure but I can still learn a retard friendly language like python

No you don't. I hate every aspect of my job and don't even get paid good money because this isn't California.

what don't you like about it? what changed your opinion it being appealing?

>coding

I want to become a mechanical engineer

I want to be a doctor

>muh codingis so fun and le epic :)
>I wanna be engineer
You are all disgusting cringe subhuman and should KYS

t. Cleaning lady

t. Streetcleaner with an enigneering degree

isn't coding like solving puzzles?

No
It's about giving up

What do you do then fag? Are you just another mommas boy neets?

Danes are unironically god-tier programmers, with Finns and Americans coming up tied at second place.

Germans and Russians are vandals and thieves who only code malware.

I'm not sure where to place Israel on this list, because stuxnet is impressive but it may have been a fluke.

It's 70% googling, 10% copying old stuff and 20% crying. I'm not even kidding, I've straight up cried at least ten times when there simply doesn't seem to be any answers and shit just doesn't work.
It's the most frustrating feeling ever.

Also the Netherlands produces good programmers as well in my experience. I would be remiss to forget them

What a code monkey. When you hit a dead wall is when you start re-writing your fucking spaghetti code and trying new avenues.

You are now aware that Czech companies control 25% of the anti-virus market

I can see it being similar to not figuring out puzzles, then. which is pretty frustrating and consuming at times. I really hope it gets better user, I'm applying to software engineering college next year

how much do you make finn bro

Puzzles usually have a single solution, coding is more like problem solving afaik.

3200€/month

>tedious details

Not so many people are great with details to be honest.

>software engineering
Cringe

Bitch that's like 8,00 EU more than me.
People keep saying "you will make good money", I don't even make enough to move out of my parents house.

The only good post here is from this guy:

Well if you want to make big bucks you need to come to the states.. that's very low salary for even the midwest shit hole fly over states

Keeping track of details makes my brain feel good.

>not learning a trade like a good working class man

Attached: 1524897354799.jpg (500x487, 78K)

>burning your body out by age 45, then dealing with back pain or neck pain the rest of your life
no thanks

>not being a well-paid lazy-ass journalist
Smh ťbh

Fuck off faggot someone has gotta make all this shit you use on a daily basis

Good list.
what about the asians? im curious some cunts that put a place on the list?

You know, Japan made the majority of the vyda of chilhood of the people of today.

Attached: 1538028212691.jpg (768x1024, 101K)

I guess so, good point

that's a lot more than I expect to ever get my hands on. lol what's the average cost of living in Europe?

Japan is incredibly weird. They're capable of incredible innovation when they have a starting rubric. For example, they looked at Canada/US for Wizardry and Ultima and copied that and fit it onto console, which was magic at the time. That's how Dragon Quest was born.

But if you leave them alone, they can't innovate for shit. That's a problem in the programming sector because sometimes you need to invent solutions for yourself. Although Japan was important for early video games, I'd rank them somewhere near the upper-middle

japs can't code for shit
its spahgetti 99% of the time

Also Iwata fitting the entirety of Kanto into Pokemon Gold was pretty impressive too

As a hobby? Go for it, dude.

I'm not a programmer myself, but a mere front-end web developer so my programming expertise extends only to Javascript, but I know a dude who works with programming and knows several languages like C, C#, Java, Python, Lua, PHP, the weblangs, etc. He gets a shit salary and is basically tasked with impossible deadlines and unrealistic expectations every day. If he had another job lined up he'd quit in the blink of an eye and never look back.

Gods, I do not envy him in that. I've heard his work rants so many times.

Programming is fun when you do it for fun, but as a professional career it sounds fucking horrible.

>but as a professional career it sounds fucking horrible.
If you live in Europe, sure. I think Europe seriously underpays its tech employees

everyone is underpaid here

>They're capable of incredible innovation when they have a starting rubric
that is classic of the East asians.
But at least, the Japanese, innovate a lot with majority of consoles, games and phones. Even Steve Jobs said something like Sony was a LITTLE bit inspiration

Biggest fucking mistake of my life. In this country manual labour still gets really high salaries and turns you into a Chad. Why did I fall for the STEM meme I fucking hate this life

Attached: 1426247205679.jpg (680x455, 42K)

I meant 800 more

Rent is like 1000+ eu in this city if you don't have social housing (so I live with my parents) groceries are fairly cheap here, but gas is like 1.75 Euro a liter.

>In this country manual labour still gets really high salaries and turns you into a Chad.
Chink mining money is going to be cut off at some point m80, our economy is realizing that a decade too late. Now that the world has learned that China is faking its economic growth data and that they're waging industrial espionage on everyone (especially the USA, Germany, and Aus), China is turning inward by focusing on developing a consumer/service domestic economy. It's easier for them to lie to their own citizens, obviously.

My advice is to get into AI and automation and put those little shits out of business

A good one, or just another 'code' monkey?

Literally me

There's still so much of the world that's about to rapidly develop so you're totally wrong. Our culture of digging up rocks isn't going away any time soon. We also have the worlds biggest lithium mine which is about to explode in relevance

Nigga, Israel is one of the top countries for security related tech. Fucking Moses took them to a land without oil, they had to make money out of ideas.

>Our culture of digging up rocks isn't going away any time soon
Yeah it will, with AI diggers employing 2 Aussies instead of 2,000

In fact it's an incredibly sensible area to automate considering mining is very dangerous.

You mean pro gamer, right?

Mining already gives a shitload of money to not many people. I would seriously nationalise it. It's the nations resources no reason for it to go to overseas companies and the only benefit for our own people being a few thousand bogans spending alot of money every few years.

as a programmer you need a few sub skills like ml, version control, command line etc etc

the more you know the more marketable you are as a tool
programmers have it harder than other engineers in order to be employable you need to be ready to learn new tricks of the trade or you will be replaced very quickly, many try few truly succeed
