Not very fair as britain only has luxury brands left
Cameron Sanchez
french cars are alright but my god, are they a fucking pain in the tits to get fixed
Henry Ramirez
Land rover isn't totally luxury, and jaguar is actually producing more affordable cars now. We're coming back
Thomas Cruz
>Mini >British
Henry Gray
also >Lamborghini >Italian
Angel Lewis
Because British cars are luxury, exclusive, and very very expensive. That's how great British cars are.
>i want to exclude another country's better cars based on some arbitrary reason No, Pierre. Our cars are just better than yours. Ours are exclusive, luxury, and much desired. Yours are common, cheap, and wholly unremarkable. Sad.
Aren't Jaguar and Land Rover owned by some Indian steel mill company?
Christopher Watson
A lot of brands have some consistency going through their line-up. BMW for example is known for always having RWD, Alfa Romeo for looking sporty, VW for being a tad bland but acceptable and Toyota for being boring as hell yet reliable.
>make regular cars >get outcompeted by Japan and Germany >entire industry collapses >hurr durr we make luxury cars only because we be superior durr hurr this is anglo denial
Henry Rogers
Tata owns JLR yeah, but I don't think many people go around thinking they're indian cars. They're still headquartered and designed in the UK
Camden Kelly
>Opel >German
Tyler Martinez
>everything under 100k€ It's us, no contest >everything above Italian and british
Gabriel Lewis
I would say French and Japs rule the 0-50k range, Germans the 50-100k and above that Jaguars etc are the coolest.
Noah Garcia
The cars we make are luxury, exclusive, and extremely powerful. Germany and Japan can't compete.
There's a reason all the celebrities drive McLarens and Rolls Royces. It's because they're the most desirable cars in the world.
Ayden Baker
French and japanese cars are shitboxes
Ian Anderson
B-but most celebrities daily drive German cars not to mention pretty much all politicians are being taxid around in either Audis or Mercedes.
Cooper Reyes
Hence they're sub 50k. Ironically Lexus, the beta's car of choice, now lets BMW produce their performance cars while they focus on selling Camry's to Trump voters and Brexiteers
Your rule would be unchallenged if it wasn't for the ford fiesta, I don't know why they don't sell well on the continent they're the perfect car here
Kayden Perry
They don't sell well since they have the status of being a boyracers car so only teenagers with money really buy them. Anyone else goes for something more stale and dependable such as the Toyota Yaris or Renault Clio.
Dylan Foster
Add Bugatti to French cars. And Opel has been bought by Peugeot and has become Fr.
0-40,000 : French 40-80,000 : German 80k+ (performance) : German 80k+ (esthetics) : British
Anthony James
Opel is a fucking mutt it belong to nobody but the abyss
Kevin Watson
bugatti has been bought by VW group
Samuel Bennett
Bugatti barely uses any VAG engineering unlike Lamborghini which basically is a Audi.
Josiah Thompson
its actually the 5th most popular brand here, ahead of Opel.
Jackson Perez
>pretty much all politicians are being taxid around in either Audis or Mercedes Wrong.
Weird, the clio has the boy racer status here, because there was an abundance of cheap kits for them a few years ago
Andrew Johnson
Exactly, and meanwhile over here it's known as a shitbox with good proportions for city driving and also being very cheap. The Civic has the same problem, apparently in the USA it's known for being dependable and a staple car while over here it is associated with greasy teenagers wrapped around trees. Go to any country without a domestic industry and see what kind of cars they use for driving around VIPs Also I really like Jaguar I hope they come back. I remember from my trip to London how many fucking Jags I saw compared to over here where they are super exclusive to ultra rich posh folk
I just checked and Fiesta actually is second best selling car of 2018 over here. Last year it performed poorly though.
Xavier Allen
Street racing making a comeback clearly
Luke Wilson
Here's what I've always found strange. Ford is like the only American car company to do well in Europe. They're also the only American car company to have a range of cars which are basically exclusive to, and purpose-designed for, Europe (Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, Transit, Ka, Galaxy). Ford realised that their normal American range of big cars wasn't going to sell over here.
The question is, why haven't other American car companies realised that this is the way to enter the European market?
Then again I guess Chevrolet (owned by GM of course) did try it a few years ago by introducing cheap, small cars under the Chevrolet brand in Europe.
I dunno, it's just interesting that Ford is the only American car manufacturer that have really succeed in Europe.
Daniel Gutierrez
user, what is the coolest normiecar in your country atm?
Lincoln Phillips
Maybe them being produced here made a difference too, where I live everyone used to work in the ford plant, it became a big part of out local culture
Samuel Young
This
Blake Wilson
Ford Europe's cars are really just Ford in name only. The Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus were both done by European design teams so you got that emphasis on features that wouldn't be popular in the States.
Easton Brooks
Toyota > shit > more shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> e*ropean cars
Andrew Campbell
Porsche >>> Everything else.
Tell me where else you can haul ass in the circuit and do groceries and fuck bitches later?
Leo Edwards
Yeah maybe you're right. Chevrolet's Europe offerings over the last decade were South Korean made cars (Daewoos mostly I think), rebadged as Chevys.
Also I guess Ford is a brand that is seen in Europe as being a sensible family car company (Escort, Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, etc.), whereas Chevy is seen solely as a big American muscle car company, not known for producing reliable sensible family cars.
Also I guess GM, through Opel and Vauxhall, sold quite a lot of cars over here (again Europe-designed, because Opel - which designs both Opels and Vauxhalls - is based in Germany). But apparently they made a loss for many years which is why GM sold Opel/Vauxhall to Peugeot-Citroen. So now GM has no presence in Europe I believe.
So yeah, Ford is the only American car maker still doing well in Europe.
That's true. I guess European designers are what contribute to the success of cars in the European market.
Thomas Kelly
I won't say that Land River is luxurious or exclusive though, same about minis
Chase Hall
I dont know enough about the technical nature of cars but in the UK it seems that if you are normal person you have a French brand, or a Volkswagen or an Opel (which we have branded as Vauxhall)
If you are a bit richer you have either Audi, Mercedes, BMW or a Land Rover
then if you like sportier cars you might have a Porsche/Bentley or a Jaguar
then if you're really in to cars you spend on a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin
If you do not have a big budget but like cool cars then you maybe get an Alfa Romeo
Joshua Campbell
It's like that all over Europe I think.
Nathaniel Sanchez
American cars aren't popular because they're terrible. Not even Americans buy American cars. The only reason any of those brands are still around is because of Obama gibsmedats.
Lincoln Wilson
>Ford realised that their normal American range of big cars wasn't going to sell over here. Ford doesn't even sell cars in America anymore. Everything is being discontinued besides the Focus and Mustang.
Dylan Baker
Land Rovers are quite expensive, and Range Rovers especially are driven by rich people and celebrities.
>then if you're really in to cars you spend on a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin You should add McLaren to that list.
Americans do buy American trucks though, don't they? Yeah I guess when it comes to cars though, Japanese and German cars are pretty popular in the US, right?
Yeah true I read about that. Why do you think the Ford Fusion isn't very popular compared to stuff like the Honda Civic etc.? The Ford Mondeo, which I think is basically the same car as the Fusion, sells well over here.
Nathan Parker
even then BMWs and VWs are known for being notoriously difficult to work on and for having high maintenance costs, VW is known for Christmas tree dashes too Alfa is known to be unreliable as well Yeah no other american manufacturer has come close in europe, chevrolet tried to sell rebadged daewoos here a few years ago and that pretty much fell flat on it's face
Ayden Torres
So are Ford, Fiat, Peugeot, Renault and Opel. I mean pretty much any brand that isn't Toyota is known for being shitty
Nathaniel Long
I'd say Peugeot cars are more enjoyable than the other brands you listed, and girls like Fiat because of the cuteness factor.
Julian Wright
I see more Nip stuff than American stuff. And yes, people with money would much rather have an Audi or BMW than their American equivalents. The most popular company in my state is Honda.
Julian Bennett
Chervolet has european like cars atleast here, but they are build in some chink country. +chervolet has volt and bolt models.
Btw european car industry will have deep decline in basic cars
Bentley Cruz
British brands: >Aston Martin good looking, questionable quality >Bentley fancy VWs >Jaguar Poo in the but actually some nice cars >Land Rover shit quality T*rk cars, some good offroaders >Lotus pretty based >Mini literally BMW
German car brands: >Audi expensive VWs >BMW best all day cars >Mercedes-Benz nice but often kinda boring >Opel GM so shit quality but I like the new Insignia >Porsche best cars in the world if you have the money >Volkswagen dinndus. As average as it gets
French car brands: >Peugeot Ok-ish >Citroen meh >Renault meh
Italian car brands: >Alfa Romeo Mamamia! So good looking, so little quality. 4C is pretty nice, tho. >Ferrari Pretty good, I guess? >Fiat literally "Fehler in allen Teilen" (failures in all pieces) >Lamborghini good looking, heavy Audis >Lancia do they even still exist? >Maserati good looking and sounding, but probably gonna fall apart if you drive faster than 30km/h
Xavier Campbell
Citroen belongs to Peugeot. Tbqh I would rate Renault over Peugeots. Both are shit though.
Nathan Wood
Because if you were going to buy a Fusion you'd get an Accord or Camry instead
Dylan Cook
Swedish cars>>>German cars>>>>>>>>>>Italian cars>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>French cars = British cars
Tyler Watson
>Chervolet has european like cars atleast here, but they are build in some chink country. They did that over here (they were rebadged Daewoos, built in South Korea), but I rarely see them now. They discontinued them a few years ago I think.
>Btw european car industry will have deep decline in basic cars Why do you think that? Companies like BMW and Porsche, and presumably other European manufacturers too, are investing heavily in electrification.
Charles Lopez
Why's that? Like I say, Mondeos are popular over here. I thought they were regarded as being pretty good as a no-frills family car.
And I don't think Honda Accords are even sold over here anymore. And I'm not sure if the Camry has ever been sold here.
