Do americans actually believe latino countries are unsafe? Would you avoid travelling to south america?

Brazil has 60,000 murders a year. Mexico has 30,000. Venezuela is on the brink of collapse. Doesn't sound very safe to me.
Why do I have to share a flag with sheltered shitstains like you?
Most of the murders in mexico are drug related, if ur not a narco its pretty safe
You can also look up detailed crime maps, theres some safer parts in brazil, as you can imagine most crime is in favelas
And for the safest countries go to argentina, uruguay, peru, chile..

Mexico is not really safe, it's very easy to get harassed by the local police and forced to pay a bribe. Never had that happen in a first world country where they have manners.

Latin America is unsafe, Kevin José. Not being able to speak on your smartphone fearing they will mug you to steal it during daytime in any major city is not safe.
Some places have always been pretty dangerous
But this is true
Y que hay de la chica española que secuestraron y asesinaron hace un par de años en Ciudad de México? Era narco ella también? Que te den por culo a ti y a tu Sudamérica Parrales, si tan seguro es vete de España y te vas al Amazonas.
>balkan nation calling LatAm countries out on pickpockets
south america is a shithole
>de los millones de turistas en mexico asesinaron a 1 (una) chica española hace unos años
Que miedo
70 muertos al dia, más que en zonas de guerra como Sudán del Sur
No lo simplifiques como si los asesinatos fuesen algo aislado, ese ejemplo solo lo puse para demostrar que no hace falta estar relacionado con el narcotráfico para que te asesinen
If you have time to waste you can tell them: "OK let's go to the police station", and if they keep telling you that it will cost you less to give them a bribe, they eventually leave you alone.
I didn't know that, i've had multiple friends thrown in jail but they were drunken tourists so maybe there is just cause for treating young foreigners this way
I've never been robbed here and got my car picklocked in the US
I avoid the continent America like the plague. Nice try.
Por eso la profesión de narco tiene 3 años de vida en promedio. Lo que sí es un problema es el secuestro, pero depende del cartel que domine la zona.
>Mexico
>Latinamerica

>retarded tourists get drunk in bad part of city, behave like animals and get beaten by football fans (looking at you, anglos)
>see???? Russia is as dangerous as Brazil!
Not all of them are unsafe, just most of them. The countries south of Brazil and Peru seem alright.
This pretty much
You can be safe in russia and spain, just dont be a total retard like the average hooligan
t. thai trannie's cocksucker
Honestly can't see a reason to visit any of Latin America except for mabye Machi Piccu or some shit
I've never been robbed by the police in the US
Ive been to Mexico, was pretty nice
You stupid gallego scum I cannot overstate how dangerous latin america is specially for white people
Stray a little from designated tourists zones and you're good as dead
No, not everyone thinks LatAm is unsafe, go outside for once.
Americans visit Latin America more than Europe. It’s a very common destination.
They just want to see "exotic" niggers doing nigger stuff. Or have an "adventure", like a British woman who went to the middle of amazon alone without a guide and got killed by local natives.
Well "safe" is relative. Even in places like El Salvador where the murder rate is like 100+ per 100K, you can argue that it is only 100 out a HUNDRED THOUSAND that get killed. And they are predominantly young males involved in gangs. So you can argue that the rest 99,900 are perfectly fine, especially if you are a middle aged lady or something. Millions of tourists visit Brazil every year. But when one or two of them get killed in a favela it becomes instant news. So I don't know what to tell you. I wouldn't go to a favela. However, if you consider not just murder but also muggings and petty crime then your chance to be a victim is significantly higher. Just how high? I don't know
To be fair some countries are really unsafe and some are midly unsafe (the southern cone). In most of Argentina you can get robbed at daylight in bad neighborhoods and when it's night you can get robbed everywhere.
With that being said i still don't want to travel to Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela and maybe Colombbia because i get the feeling that they are in another much higher level of insecurity.
How many French tourists got murdered in Argentina again? I recall at least 4 from recent memory
Imagine how many get mugged, you dont know what safety is, safety is talking your iphone out for a call in the middle of the night on the streets without fear

>Do Americans actually believe latino countries are unsafe?
It is unsafe. They aren't wrong.
>Would you avoid traveling to South America?
Not really. But I'll avoid certain areas and I would take extra precautions if I were a foreigner visiting the places that I haven't avoided. I already take extra precautions while living here.
I'd travel in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile for what I know.
I'd maybe travel in Southern Brazil but not anywhere else.
Peru is safe and one of the best places for tourism, just dont go to Lima
Fucking love how we memed South Brazil = White and safe enough to people actually believe it.
There's a higher chance of being robbed in France than in Mexico
Lol
Absolutely delusional shitskin
I wonder if people died because of this meme yet
Mostly died on Rio or Amazon.
how is that a meme? i've seen lots of pics on Jow Forums. white germanic people, entire schools full of them.
also snow and cold makes it looks like europe.
>latinamerica is unsafe
>why do people say latinamerica is unsafe?
US has the same but still has daily mass shooting.
this guy knows. your cell phone was stolen how many times in argentina?
balkan cunts are a million times safer than south america
>safety is talking your iphone out for a call in the middle of the night on the streets without fear
How many French tourists go to argentina again?
but it is still very safe here even with "daily" shootings. so if south brazil is as safe that's good enough.
I've traveled to perhaps five countries in Latin America: Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I've been to Mexico twice and am going back to Colombia again in late November.
I have few reservations about traveling to most destinations in Latin America, the likes of Venezuela aside. However, I think it's somewhat disingenuous to suggest that the region is safe. Crime rates are quite high in most LatAm countries; while I felt quite secure in Mexico City, for instance, I also recognized that some neighborhoods were effectively no-go zones. Even my upscale apartment had a drive-by behind it on the fifth or sixth day I was there (pic related).
IMO, you have to watch your back in most Latin America cities. In places like Bogota and Medellin, there is a very real risk of mugging.
Having said that, I don't really worry about getting shot or hurt in LatAm. Armed robbery and mugging are the only two true concerns I have as a guy.
Wait, southern brazil has snow? How
yeah but it ain't
he is an argentine. his phone was stolen in argentina 5 times so he moved to france.
kek
you have to be truly an idiot to be robbed so many times here.
this is a typical winter there
Mexico, Venezuela and Brasil are shitholes. The rest of the countries are ok unless you are retarded.
Even Colombia is a great place to travel nowadays, fuck
shut the fuck up Julian
that's only in rundown parts, do you think people don't take out their phones? lol

>Americans visit Latin America
Most of those are immigrants and Chicanos visiting relatives
yep
Parts of Latin America are actually dangerous, not all of course. But why deny it?
numbeo.com
Actually, Mexico surprisingly seems to be safer than Argentina.
And Chile seems to be the safest country, landscape of Chile = Beaches+ mountains + forest, so it looks like a pretty good country for traveling. But we still are in a South American country, so we have to stay careful.
>Mexico, Venezuela and Brasil are shitholes.
Just like everyone else in here. The only country here that it is unsafe when you are not being an absolute retard is Venezuela.
The website is to take lightly, I doubt Iraq is safer than France or Italy.
Touristic parts here are extremely safe desu. You can use your phone on the street without fear of getting mugged, even as a tourist
well think about it, most of you probably think that if you go to detroit or chicago you will get killed instantly. the power of memes. there is *some* truth to that. of course if you go to some dangerous ghetto at night you are asking for trouble. but why would you want to do that?? i've been to detroit numerous times and the worst thing that ever happened to me was i got a flat tire. maybe it is the same in latin america? the selection bias? at least in the us the murder rates *per city* doesn't mean much. in chicago alone you have areas with close to zero murder rates but move a few miles down the street you are entering el salvador. the solution? don't go there!
>Chile safer than the US
our sons making us proud
>well think about it, most of you probably think that if you go to detroit or chicago you will get killed instantly
no we don't we are not eurocucks.
Let's just say I'd limit my stay to Chile and Argentina. Partially because I find the climate elsewhere unbearable, but also because of security concerns.
>Iraq safer than the US
nice website
Last year an american tourist almost died because he was taking pictures with his expensive camera in a no-go-area in La Boca. It's hilarious because months before that incident, when my girlfriend (from Japan) came to visited me, she and my mother went to La Boca and a local told them not to go to that place.
hola juli
i thought argentina was safer than the rest
its still a goblineaux shithole compared to the civilized world
thats like saying nigeria is safer than zimbabwe. Maybe, but its still Africa.
It is, but don't expect to come out alive if you go to a dangerous area with a 1000 dollars camera. It's common sense.
but that's the same in every country you absolute autist
if i saw someone with expensive stuff i would be tempted too

Its always the same spic that brings up his 45 year old Jap gf.
>wow lets see the shanty towns like if it was a zoo and poor people were an attraction
why do tourists do this?
Uruguay is like a less corrupt version of Argentina
>Would you avoid travelling to south america?
If one day I'll be interested in removing my head from my body, I'd rather visit Chechnya.
But user. You won't feel the rush of a dull knife slicing your neck open if you go to Chechnya.
