Generals entering the white house with tanks

america wastes most of the corn it makes
it will just use it to make synthetic fuel instead

with prices around here one gallon of petrol would be 6.84$, is it cheap or expensive for amercan standards?

extremely expensive

that's ~300% of the price where I live

The weird part about california is it's 100% leftist. They could build those mass transit stations whenever they want. But they choose not to. Interesting don't you think?

dumb poltard

Are you fucking serious?
If gas was that expensive in the U.S. there would be an armed rebellion.

People get pissed if gas goes over even 2.60$

where's the lie though?

Just don't live in LA and you'll be fine

holy shit. that's a robbery. how the fuck can you afford that??

he is right though, you are pol obviously. the rest is irrelevant

Aren't they working on an LA to SF hyperloop? Or did that idea get scrapped?

California's $4/gal is considered overly expensive and laughed at by the rest of the country

>The weird part about california is it's 100% leftist.
magapedes are this retarded

>how the fuck can you afford that??
Americans drive WAY more than Italians do (on average).

>how the fuck can you afford that??

Living in smaller countries surely helps

China is a fucking hellhole XXDDSDDDDDDDDDXDDDDDD

Mass transit construction has been constant in the LA area for the last coupke of decades. It's not China-tier trabsit expansion, but it's significant.

Also the high speed rail project has been massively sandbagged by the conservatives and many social liberals who live here. We're probably responsible for the majority of international Google hits containing "boondoggle". California is much less than 100% leftist.

tanks running on what, though?

but it is your daily commute that matters not the size of your country. i understand you must be driving a lot less but that's not because your country is small, right?

The blood of f*ds

???

>Are you fucking serious?
Actually I got the math wrong, I wrote $ but it was in €, 7.85$ is the current price per gallon.
Yes I'm serious, before the oil went down it was around 2.05€ per liter here, so 7.79€ per gallon, 8.94$
Hybrid cars and trains
lucky you guys

>paying for gas
>not siphoning on the street from 2 to 5 in the morning when no one's looking

kek you cant just buy things, things cost money and you dont have that

I don't live in Lisbon or Porto, so my comute across town is 15 minutes.

Most people in bigger cities just take the transit instead, of course.

fair enough

>but it is your daily commute that matters not the size of your country
Europens commute much less than Americans. we don't have the suburb and metopolis thing here. 20 km is a lot in term of distance to work here, while to Americans it's next door

Gas here is nearing R$5 per litre. That's around US$5.12 per US gallon.

>but it is your daily commute that matters not the size of your country.
Right, but urban sprawl really isn't a thing in most of Europe. Cities are dense. Getting from point A to B is quick. Houses are small, lawns are non-existent, etc.

>Cities are dense.
I don't think our cities are that denser per se, we just have a lot more of them, instead of focusing everyone in the state into the same city, aside a couple of exceptions.

Urban Sprawl is what gets you guys.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks Joao.

>They don't pull up beside lorries in a lay by at 3:30 in the morning and drain them
>They pay for things they can get for free

You seem to think the problem with urbanism and public transport is a left-right issue when it's not. Only a dumb poltard would simplify an insanely complex problem in such brain-dead moronic terms.

People, even if they identify as "left wing", "progressive" or whatever, don't want to compromise their own comfort for wider issues, they'd hate to see taxpayer money being diverted into public transport projects instead of their favorite pet issue of the moment (feminism, affirmative action, etc etc). Your average "leftist" wouldn't want to have their work parking lot turned into a transit station, they wouldn't support a train yard being built in behind their home, wouldn't even support the construction of a tramway in their street if that means noise and and some slight inconveniences for a few months.

Also you seem to imply people have strong political opinions, when in fact, they don't. They adopt whatever label suits the moment and is well seen by their pairs. The same people who calls themselves progressives now would be raising their right arm doing the Roman Salute in the 30s just because their pairs do too.

Also, LA does have a public transport system.

Only trucks can be diesel fueled here, normal cars can't so as to not compete with trucks and raise the price of diesel.

wew

>armed rebellion

fuck off

I see your point. Maybe my situation is not typical but I live in a very typical suburb in a smallish metro area in a flyover state. My commute to work is only 15 to 20 min (because I don't work downtown). I even go back home to lunch on most days. And I drive everywhere , to grocery stores, movies, parks etc. So that fits the stereotype about us having to drive everywhere. And that's true. However I only spend about $100 a month on gas.

Based bolsonaro will reverse dumb commie policies like that

Gas is about £1.31/litre here, which is about $6.50 per Amerigallon.

It's always been expensive in my lifetime, it's just normal.

Attached: 1458654689936.jpg (671x665, 46K)

It's because we're 99% dependent on trucks for logistics. It's what happens when you have barely any functioning railroads.
I doubt it, unless he fixes the underlying cause above. If the price of diesel rises, the price of everything rises with it.

How is ethanol fuel prices and emissions levels compared to gas/diesel? If ethanol is cheaper and cleaner than diesel, I see no reason why that would be a problem.

Proof that (((commutes))) are a semitic conspiracy. Based Orientals limiting commute times.

clearly OP webm is China or im wrong?

Its USA? Disgusting Desu

Sounds like your commute is unusually short. Good for you.

>slavs

That’s a good thing, hopefully our prices go up to $10/gal so we are forced to drive less.

Ethanol is usually priced at around 70% the price of gas, and that's usually its consumption compared to gas, in liters per kilometer (as in, if a car can make 10km per liter of gasoline, it usually makes 7km per liter of ethanol). But looking at prices right now it's closer to 60% the price of gas, so it's worth buying at the moment.
Ehanol is still more expensive than diesel though.

That would be horrible. Drive LESS? That's insanity. Drive MORE. That's the money melon

>public transport is for commies! traffic jams are the price of freedom...

How do we make America more “European”? Not in a le racial way, but in terms of infrastructure, government, urban planning, quality of life, etc.

Public transport is crowded, hot and smelly.

You'll always be destined to be poor with that mentality

How has reddit infiltrated this site to this degree?? I'm going to vomit

I'm not poor though.

But you've shown your true trashy colors

the quality of the public transport depends
Just go to Ireland or Madrid for comparison, its really comfortable and efficient, specially in ireland

Trashy because I refuse to pay for something I can get for free? No, clever. Why throw money away.

Multiply Dublin's population by 4 so you'd get a population density similar to our large cities like São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro and see how they fare.

Canada seems like the 1st version of america, what do ppl in usa think of it?
Well imagine if everyone used a car in sao paulo, the roads would be unusable
If anything, the more dense a city is the more public transport it needs, or just go the asian way and ride bycicles and motorbikes wich takes less space in the road

canada is literally just america. go goolge maps some town in alberta and it's looks like a carbon copy of some town in midwest us

Not all of Canada looks like Alberta.

92% of Americans have a favourable view of Canada and 4% an unfavourable view, it's the most of any country.

I can imagine it because that's what most people already do. It's shitty but the metro here is shittier.
Even the best public transport in a crowded city (Tokyo's) gets terrible in rush hour.
I think it's a problem with no solution, at least until all traffic is handled by a hiveminded AI.

>similar architecture in some regions means Canada and the USA are exactly the same

sure, quebec might look different

and fortunately we don't share those sentiments.

I'm just talking about infrastructure dumb dumb. No shit canada is different in other aspects
>WE'RE TOTALLY DIFFERENT WE SWEAR

>wanting the extremely high gas prices of 3rd world euroshitholes

no

Even the grid pattern isn't as ubiquitous here as it is in the US. You'll mostly find that in Ontario and everywhere West of it.

Cagers were a mistake.
Realistically, the US has zero alternative transport options for 90% of people, even in cities. Everything was built on the assumption that car would always be available. It's too sprawled to bike, not dense enough for public transit lines to be viable. Can't walk, for damned sure. If the car was cost prohibitive all of a sudden america would simply be finished. There would be no way for people to get to work, or even just to the grocery store.
Glass it all and start over. Not even kidding. Shit is fubar.

>OMG STOP EMBARRASSING ME, GUYS LOOK OMG

So basically all of canada except maritimes and quebec.

Pretty much. Good thing I don't live there.

Right now I'm complaining about gas prices being $2.50 a gallon, since they used to be $1.90 a year ago

Maritimes, Newfoundland, and Québec are all of Canada

This. Currently we have some pozzed losers in Ottawa calling themselves Canada.

Did you ever travel outside the USA?
Not all the world is designed for cars, i only have to drive 2 days a week for instance

Based General Sherman

love me some Canadian brainlet wars, in one thread the leaf stopped posting brainlets and just started doing stuff like this......AAAARRGHHGGGGGGRUUUGTYYUUHGGHUUUU

If Euros capitalized off of Middle Eastern invasions like we did their gas prices would be lower. Middle Eastern lives < gas prices

Many factors apply but in short
- commuting distance in Europe is much smaller than in the USA. People simply aren't used to drive as big of a distance like they do in the US (except for in Germany which is a 'real' car country)
- people drive very fuel friendly cars.
- people drive diesel cars
- people avoid using a car unless they have to

Right wingers don't like to admit it but by making driving more expensive society did actually develop in a way to become less dependant on cars.

thats the thing with being a geopolitical superpower. you get to have cheap gas, we get to be your bitch.

The actual cost price of our gas might as well be cheaper than yours. It's all taxes that determine the price. The same is true for cigarettes for example.
