Not true, I work in a restaurant which also produces their own macro and micro brews. They are all very distinct tasting beers with varying alcoholic content. It's my job to recommend certain ones with the meal the customer is eating

The beer people drink the most here is lite stuff in cans, you have to practically chug that shit to get drunk. They drink it for the taste, it's healthier to sip on than soda is, and that's partially because it isn't loaded with sugar.

I quite like most beer and some whiskey, but I can't stand sweet alcoholic drinks. If you don't like the taste of alcohol then just have a non alcoholic drink, unless you're trying to get pissed.
