When will tourists learn and leave the centre?

When will tourists learn and leave the centre?

Well most of the cool things to see are there. Only reason I leave the center is because weed is cheaper. Never been to Noord though is it nice?

den haag>rotterdam>amsterdam

Never been to Amsterdam but isn't it better for the people living there if tourists to stick to one spot?

Why? There's not really a lot to see there. Or do you think tourists come to Amsterdam to see Moroccan drugdealers?

>xD DUDE WEED LMAO

The "people" living there believe they are entitled to live in the tourist hotspots without encountering tourists.

Noord is boring. It's completely residential, used to be full of old people and immigrants but today has quite some luxury developments. Regardless it's only purpose is for living.
In general only centrum, west and zuid are interesting places in Amsterdam.

Yeah smoked weed while there pretty cool right? XDXD Jokes apart it was legal here too but tourist fucked up everything. Its cool that you guys didn't pussy out.
Oh ok thanks so I didn't miss much. How's Utrecht? I want to come back for a small holiday but I'm not sure where to go. Gieethorn seems worth a visit too.

Never go to Utrecht. Then you'd better go to The Hague, Rotterdam, Maastricht or Groningen.

>Giethoorn
A little village that receives over 1 million people per year, lol.
>Utrecht
lame Amsterdam knock off. It's nice but it lacks soul.

the newer neighborhoods have interesting architecture too like this

or this

Those almost all within Amsterdam (oud) zuid which is not a new neighborhood.

literally 1 street with highrise on both sides we New York now

Amsterdam is cancer and needs bombs

And the rest consists of 19th century blocks

Never been to Amsterdam, i really hate super touristy areas and also the whole "weed" thing, very into museums and cathedrals though, whats/wheres in Amsterdam worth seeing?

The things worth seeing in Amsterdam are the tourist hotspots. Tourists tend to go to places that are worth visiting.

Tourists sometimes go to super gimmicky places but thats true, whats good about amsterdam though? why do people visit apart from "dude weed lmao"?

You can get an NS dagkaart and basically travel to anywhere in the country within 2 hours and see as many cathedrals as you want, as for Amsterdam the Rijksmuseum during weekdays and workhours is highly recommendable

My trip to Rotterdam, it was pretty fucking cool.

go to the Hague, Scheveningen in the summertime is great, they have more than a mile of beach bars. Nice places all around, schiedam is a nice day out too only 30 mins away

But I wanted to see Dom Tower :( maybe I'll go just by train for a day then. Yeah I was thinking about The Hague cause I saw they have Escher House and it looks cool.
Yeah I saw it somewhere on a tourist map kek but it does look cool
Van Gogh /Rembrandt are probably the most popular and Amsterdam is also cool to see. A bit like Venice but everyone is riding a bike

>why do people visit apart from "dude weed lmao"?
Well Amsterdam itself of course has a very unique lay-out with the multiple canals that go around the centre. It features beautiful architecture which in some areas is very uniform but also with more variety than say Paris or Vienna.
Amsterdam has a lot of museums, the biggest one being the Rijksmuseum. A lot of museums are located in the 'Museumkwartier' which is a borough full of museums. A lot of them absolutely worth a visit, especially if you like renaissance art.

In general Amsterdam is a stunningly beautiful city with unique architecture and especially a lot of great museums. Definitely worth a visit.
t. been to Amsterdam maybe 4 times in my life

Hamburg has a better red light district than Amsterdam

Most Dutch cities are worth 1 day visits. The Hague is amazing and can be seen in 1 day. Utrecht is great and can be seen in 1 day. Maastricht is beautiful and can be seen in 1 afternoon. Groningen is very nice but also not worth more than 1 day.
Scheveningen is very nice. I like The Hague a lot, but it's a weird place. I can never really tell whether it is a nice city or a shithole. It is both at the same time.

Also I know people who actually live in Giethoorn and they see about 10.000 Chinese people in boats drift by their house EVERY DAY.

If you rate cities by their red light district then you definitely should go and stay in Hamburg

I have been there 15 years ago, wasn’t too bad. Apart from smoking a joint with a brit popstar and some old Indian that turned buds to a mix with magic my favorite fellow tourists were two japanese teenage boys with their dad, that were incredible embarrassed when he ordered some weed.
The museums were also great.

Amsterdam is nothing more than a big red light district and some mediocre Museums

Hamburg is a very grim city though.

Scheveningen isnt special at all unless you visit during the special events desu, I like the Zandvoort/Bloemendaal beach more

That sounds promising and convenient, an entire borough full of museums seems like a good plan.

as crowded as venice?

I really enjoyed Amsterdam, those houses are an adventure on their own. When I checked into the hotel I thought the stairs would kill me.

How is Hamburg grim?

stop selling weed, they already close one of abraxas shop.

Can't stress enough that you should visit the museums when other people are normally working or going to school. I was basically immediately in front of the center of the Nachtwacht in a minute where usually is a gigantic crowd there

From what I remember about your people, they go there to drink Heineken and shout obscenities at half naked girls in red light district windows

My cousin is a pianist at a piano bar there and I go visit him about once a year, I can imagine it's a bit dire during the winter when the beach bars are gone and no one is out. It seems a nice enough place. Amsterdam reminds me of london, wayy too many fucking tourist shops, overhyped

Yeah it's quirky city like that. Everything is tiny, cramped and quite high.
Because it was bombed to dust in WW2 and rebuild with a lot of concrete and a gigantic sleazy downtown area. The weather is awful too, on par with Northern-England.
It's just kind of a grim place at least compared to Amsterdam.

I would always imagine it's very cozy in winter to take a stroll along the beach and have depressing self-thoughts.
Regardless the idea of having a city next to a beach is cool. We don't really do that in the Netherlands.

It's funny because I remember talking with a Dutch woman 2 summers back while working cash register at an old job who was touring the country with her adorable baby daughter, and I asked her advice on what to do when visiting the Netherlands and she told me to go outside Amsterdam cuz that's where all the tourists go and it sucks and a place the Rotterdam or The Hague is the same basically but better cuz no tourists think to go there.

I thought they made it only legal for Dutch citizens to smoke or are you implying your doing illegal activity mountain jew?
