Hello Jow Forums What do you think about Oktoberfest (or as we say: d'Wiesn)?
Have you ever been to Oktoberfest? Do you want to go there?
For everyone who doesn't know what it is: Oktoberfst is the world's largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair). Held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, it is a 16- to 18-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October, with more than six million people from around the world attending the event every year. Locally, it is often called the Wiesn, after the colloquial name for the fairgrounds, Theresa's meadows (Theresienwiese). The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, having been held since the year 1810.
in this video you can see what d wiesn is like. although the video is in german you will get a good impression of the festival youtube.com/watch?v=m9EqUfiLn60
>the richest and chillest part of Germany >niggers of Germany
it's like Americans hating California.

Dönner & capri > Bier & Wurst Hamburg > München

I like it, but how it is advertised is stupid. The girls aren't supposed to show so much boob in a national dress

>Aquafresh Your opinion is basically worthless
Landon Hill
>chillest they're not chill at all.

Here is a cultural piece of information for you guys. A woman's dirndl ribbon reveals her relationship status. From left to right: >virgin >single >in a relationship >waiter or widow
do you think a finn can drink more beer than a german?
Brayden Gutierrez

If you actually went to Oktoberfest and were given Lederhosen would you wear it?

It might go as when one tries to push the same side of two magnets together. Something will give eventually

I went to a local 'oktoberfest' last weekend, pic related. It was really fun, doubt it was very authentic but everyone dressed up and joined in with the weird games, and they has a brass band and sausages etc. I'd like to go to the real deal one day. Pic was from when I went (it filled up later)
just bring enough cash because the beer is very expensive. you will experience one of the best parties of your life with happy people and lewd girls (german girls love swedes)
the national dress is longer, knee length, and you dont show cleavage

My gfs sister lived in Munich for a year, she went to a dirndl shop and bought one of the traditional ones. She said the shop assistant loved her because everyone just buys the 'slutty' ones nowadays

it's not Germany's national dress, it is a perversion of a traditional bavarian peasant dress my grandmother used to wear
>Oktoberfest We have that here in my town as well so I go every year. They put up big tents full of live bands, long benches and such. Beer prices are actually ok as well.
there are plenty of games to play just to name a few: >dart >can knockdown >Schießbude, shooting game >Wettnageln, competitive nail hammering ("nageln" is colloquial for "fucking" so expect a lot of bad jokes) >sawing >carrying your gf in a wheelbarrow >carrying beer mugs
Fingerhakeln. When practicing Fingerhakeln, both opponents are sitting at a table opposite to each other and try to pull the opponent to himself on the finger over the table border.
Of course. It's kinda the point. German, Swedish, Norwegian. Anything that's fun to drink to.

was wollen wir trinken? i thought swedes dont like germans

Last year there was a band of dudes dressed as medieval knights playing Rammstein songs on banjos and pot drums. We like Germans and Germany. Sadly I don't speak any German though. Oktoberfest for us is just a fun weekend where we can get drunk.

Cannstatter Volksfest is so superior to Oktoberfest it's not even funny. If you want to hate humanity, go to Oktoberfest on a weekend, without a reservation. At least the songs are fun.

>Do you want to go there? no money

>Cannstatter Volksfest is so superior to Oktoberfest it's not even funny a literal rip off, imitating Bavarian culture

I visited Oktoberfest in 2014. Had a lot of fun and it was such a great atmosphere with the band music. Everyone was really friendly. Ended up drinking with some Italians, Americans, Dans, Austrians and Brazilians! I think a maß? of beer was about 10€. Only managed to drink 2 and a half of them. No hangover the next day. Honestly one of the best times I've ever had.
