Which bird is the most common around your house?
For me, at this time of year, it's these tits.
Tits, woodpeckers, boobies, turkey, swallows, cocks...
Wtf England, why is every second bird a dirty joke?
pigeon
That is a dove.
We have many great tits and robins, but the collared dove is by far the most common.
AHAHAHAHAAH TITS!!!! AS IN BOOOBIES!!
Oh, thank you
I only knew pigeon.... (´Д⊂
There are a lot of these at my university
what a coincidence but the most common bird here is the one OP posted
and its the most common, no matter the time of the year
so instead of common bird, I will post a rare bird which was common 15 years ago but has disappeared for mysterious reasons
Canada goose
The goddamn pic
I'd say this is the second common in Romania, the sparrow.
Maybe it disappeared because of the artificial introduction of foreign fauna to Finland (martens, cats) as Pentti Linkola claimed.
they (almost totally) disappeared from Finland and nobody really knows why
but when there is no sparrows, the number of tits have grown very large as both had some competition on same living space
nice thread desu!
sparrow,pigeon,and wagtail.
wagtail is my favorite birb
wtf we have this bird also in Finland
Also, these jackdaws
Sparrows.
I've kept turtle dove for several days .
because the young dove hit window of my house and passed out.
It was cute.
oh Is that so? I didn't know about it.
wagtail always walk fast.
It's so funny and cute.
Not the most common, but it's the only bird i consciously notice. They live in my big plum tree. They're based.
CAAAW MOTHERFUCKER.
Every morning...
i like em
I only ever fucking see crows and hawks.
Always see Cardinals at my bird feeder. Also hear woodpeckers from time to time. New England wildlife is nice.
This. At least they are keeping the seagulls and oystercatschers away
Same here.
Big fatties they are cute
lovely birb
all year round.
the difference between pigeon and dove. I don't get.
Flying rats known as pigeons.
Pigeon is the french-english word, dove the german-english word
I dont know which bird is most common but this one is common
It only lives on Lapland
It is named Google!
Strange coincidence.
However the search engine google gets it name from number "googolplex" and not from this bird which is probably an unknown bird outside of Finland anyway
Tits, sparrows, crows, magpies, blackbirds. Every once in a while, there's also wild doves and pidgeons, they really love a certain house in the middle of the village, I assume because it has a big antenna.
Why do Italians hate house sparrows?
Finnish also makes distinction between pigeon and dove
pigeon = pulu (the bird makes bul-bul sound)
dove = kyyhky (I dont know etymology on this)
And that's all? Like, there's no special kind of Doves called 'pigeons' and it's all one and the same species?
it is the same species but the pigeons obviosly are different color
the natural form, dove, is white bird
for unknown reasons the pigeons which started live next to humans, had a mutation which changed their feather colors
Pigeon are Columba.

Doves include others but not all Columbinae, like

Weak should fear the strong
thank you, guys.
Sparrow since there is a program/law in our town planting a tree outside your house and taking care of it and also because of Roller shutter where they make their nest
They have him instead.

Roughly what said Columba (Old World Pigeons) are mostly pigeons. But the rest is mostly influenced by the fuckery of the Ornithologists' Union like the rock pigeon which used to be a dove, then a pigeon and now a dove again.
