they at one point were central Asiatic people
they were conquered by the Persians and fought for them getting more and more political power
eventually they took over but in their ruling position only after a couple generation they had completely lost their horse archer culture and were completely Persianized
the only thing left of their central Asian heritage was their language which while talking a lot of Persian and Arabic loan words still had the Turkic Oghuz structure
genetically they are extremely mixed with Persian,Arabic but mostly Slavic mix
