Do high schoolers or even younger students in your country do eveything on laptops nowadays? I mean all, assignments, tests, homework, etc.? I've read that it's like that in Finland.
In Lithuanian schools, most things are still low-tech: essays are written with a pen, same shit with tests and exams.

They got rid of that idea over here since it decreases your actual learning.

What's a laptop?

High school matriculation tests are nowadays done with computers. They have made subtle but big chances during the last ten years. It's about downgrading the system on purpose, about making kids more stupid.

I can't even imagine how stupid the future generation kids will be. They won't be able to even write their own names on paper.

check into a retirement home immediately, you crotchety boomer

He's right. I stopped bringing my laptop to university and use paper again and my results have skyrocketed.
Typing is too automated in your mind, you don't really pay attention to what you type. In order to write you have to look, but you can type with your eyes closed. Hence you learn less from typing.

>How progressive!

The kids will end up lacking basic informaiton gathering skills, lacking classical skills that absolutely everything we have is based upon and even having a different brain structure (yes) and diminished cognitive skills.

They are training the kids to end up being a horde of drooling idiots.

Do high schoolers or even younger students in your country do eveything on laptops nowadays?
Yeah. It’s gross.

That's you now. In the corporate world everything is done on computers already.
I like paper as well and for some things it's still better but using computer is the future.

But highschoolers spend hours per day on their computers at home.

Going to have to jump in here...

In Aus it's a mix, but in public High Schools it's still mostly pen and paper.

This is actually happening in some primary schools now.

In uni it's almost all laptops or downloading lectures without attending class.

However, the process of learning is different between typing and writing. So I think a blended learning will be the norm, with laptops/tablets being for more classwork generally but writing will become a specialised co-skill.

>tl;dr
You literally cannot NOT teach writing even in the foreseeable future with tablets.

It's not the medium that need to change but the knowledge
We are still studying useless stuff while ignoring the future

The analogy in your pic related doesn't work with this. This is about training the kids to specialize in one narrow region and to lack everything in between. It's like they are ushered to a location blindfolded. Once they can see again, they don't know how they ended up there. All this will affect their cognitive skills and ability to rationalize etc. In short it's a web of different things big and small.

Now, watch this:

No.

At my school they did a trial run with computers for tests, but reverted to paper-based exams after about a year.

>COMPUTERS FOR SCHOOL

fast forward 5 years
>wow this teenager is so fucking braindead he doesn't have enough fine manual movement skills to hold a pen properly

But Britain is third world
Probably your techies fucked up

>We are still studying useless stuff while ignoring the future
True, more practicable skills need to be taught.
Like kids are fucking obese m8, lots of them so thet need cooking and PE classes but that shit gets dropped.
We're still teaching times tables because we push kids through.
A lot of Australia's education system is still stuck in the old industrial model, and even though we know what's good for kids we still don't do it.
And top-down bullshit decisions.

>But Britain is third world
Second world, mostly. Italy has better grounds for being third world than we do.

Imagine...
>Durr I just type and when I do my shoes I use velcro or slip-on boots
>it's da future hurr
Dat kinesetic learning yo

When you write you also have to use your brain a little bit more compared to typing where you only have to use muscle memory to remember where each key is on the board.

6 year old kids all have ipads at the school I help at

but they don't use them all the time

Was thinking more about some basic law and economic as well ditching the study on dead languages like Latin or Greek
Studying something more in touch with the industry like statistic or computer science that are widely avoided in high school
PE classes should also be take more seriously and teach the kid hot to treat its own body

Talk to me when you have a bigger industry than Italy
You survive only by twisting the system and now you are paying for this
We had nothing in this country and we rose at 8th power
You had everything and still fuck up miserably on everything
The world will teach Britain a harsh lesson hopely your people will stop being arrogant and will start to get its shit sorted

>I use velcro or slip-on boots
Don't fucking remind me. I've been looking for a pair of leather boots recently and holy fucking shit literally 90% of them had regular shoelaces AND fucking zippers on the side.

Because people nowadays are so fucking braindead that tying shoes is hard and the concept of shoelace hooks is alien.

I ended up having to buy imported workboots from USA. Fuck me.

Bit rich calling someone else arrogant after referring to them as third world when they obviously aren't

If they were so much better they shouldn't take the bait
Ad hominens are only used by people who have the so called: "coda di paglia"

t. ingegnere

>You had everything and still fuck up miserably on everythingThe world will teach Britain a harsh lesson hopely your people will stop being arrogant and will start to get its shit sorted
How did you infer that I'm arrogant? I believe this country is generally second world outside of major urban areas, but I don't believe we're any more "third world" than Italy. Regarding your country as second world is the opposite of arrogance.

dude you're the one that called him third world first what are you on about?

Perché lol
Comunque no

Because by what you said probably think of Italy as a place where everything is like your average touristic city center or your average beach
But aside for those we also are second in Europe for the secondary economic sector just after Germany ahead of France and UK
I would rank UK, France and Italy as really similiar only Germany is one step ahead between us, big countries of Europe
t. visited all of those countries

I like to type notes because my handwriting is really shit. Is there a solution for this?

Don't try to find a solution when there is no problem

There's not? I see what you mean but as a neat freak, my handwriting is stressful to look at. I type it out to make it look clean.

Yes
