Welcome to civilization, where you have to behave.

where u from

Winter is coming.

what do you mean by uptight? can you give an example?

Because that's just how we are

...

probably an American

Norwegians are pretty funny, they'll pile 6 people into a sedan instead of getting a larger car.

>a larger car.
Who are you, King Midas?

Exchange student in Norway here, I see SUVs eveywhere

most people in europe seemed that way

Because big cars are expensive.

don't come back then

Northrons are cold like their heathen lands.

Continental Germanic protestants are known for their North Korea-style conformism and rigidity.

The entire world is like that, we're the weird ones. Try going to Seattle some time, they act the same way

Getting a new car just for that seems excessive.

Most Americans have a sedan for themselves and then a SUV for when they need to haul a lot of people.

Not really.

Are you telling me that Russians are friendly and welcoming?

Yes

5 of the 10 best-selling cars this year are SUVs.

Welcome to Scandinavia.
Everyone is an autist.

Pretty much everyone except for East Asians and continental Germanic protestants are different.

Also, you would act the same if it wasn't for Irish admixture.

t. soulless antpeople devoid of any sense for human greatness

the law of jante is dead
least here it is

Attached: 1527684227822.png (311x743, 21K)

I have some americans in my family. Often they think something is wrong or something because i dont talk all the time(and i am seen as talkative). To us that is the norm, we dont know we are silent autists before someone from another place points it out. Americans to me are too much empty talking. I talk when i have something to say, unlike americans that talk all the time. Its one that is the right or wrong, its just different cultures

This is kind of true in the smaller places and in the older generation. For example, my old professor started nagging because i want to be a manager and study business management. That would be seen as a great thing in America, but for older norwegians, its like bragging.

The Law of Jante is grossly exaggerated by foreigners and natives who are chronic underperformers anyway. It's often used as an excuse for their own inability to succeed at something, often because their parents are deadbeats.

The condescending attitude is aimed towards people who act like they're better than everyone else rather than show humility. But I don't think any nation really worships arrogance, except maybe the US. It's also something you'll no doubt find in any small town or village, as it's literally based on one.

How the fuck was Tesla Model X the best selling car last month? The standard, cheapest configuration costs over 900 000DKK/$137 000 here.

we aren't poor

Attached: 1535203572625.png (715x585, 142K)

better come to italy, there are alive people not that pagan cagy scumbags from cold climate countries

It's like $85k here because of government incentives. The monthly sale is misleading though, cause the Teslas are shipped here in large batches at the time. Still the 4th best-selling this year though.

you are either some undesirable shitskin or new worlder savage

>buying Tesla

Y I K E S

The average salaries are higher here when you adjust for cost of living though.

Well that explains it. That's a crazy price difference.

I thought American cars are shit
It's a brand new company, shit like that is bound to happen. I remember when Japanese cars started becoming popular in the US and they all had botched elements to them aswell.

what is the ligurian sea doing in the north atlantic

On vacation, see the sights, etc.

There's a different between mid 20th century quality control to 2010's quality control desu. I mean, there are chink companies who have better quality control than Tesla. Not saying that their cars are bad, but the company letting shit like this pass it's fucking embarassing, even if the company is new.

>travel to Scandinavia and expecting people to be warm and open, especially now in autumn when the melancholy starts to hit hard

Attached: 1520150557302.jpg (200x179, 14K)

The electric car market is still young so Tesla doesn't have very fierce competition. Tesla cars actually have some crappy design because they are new. They make beginner mistakes that veteran car companies don't make, another issue is that their logistics and service infrastructure is not very developed so many Teslas that need repairs end up waiting in queue 4ever. At least Tesla owners "take one for the team" and beta test electric cars for the rest of us.

>nords butthurt that jante's law describe them to a T

i wipe my ass with three things
1) danish tears
2) money
3) the law of j*Nte

At which university did you get your doctorate in Nordic behaviour?

seattle? nope. massholes are like that

which of the three feels the softest on your ass?
is it like 10 ply or softer?

>countries would never lie and cover up their faults

KEK

just like we pretend there's no Muslims in Europe when Americans are around

The butthurt over Jante's law proves it is true

they're not bad at all actually but everything's goddman expensive. they live in a small bubble thinking everyone in europe get huge salaries like them

Based

The Irish are friendly fairly quickly but it will take a long fucking time before they tell you anything important about themselves or trust you in anyway, Americans don't seem to have that

Nice seeing Americans fluent in English.

It's because New Englanders are white

>they're not vapid americans that means they're weird

When I went to Norway and I stopped in the middle of the road to consult a map, more than once people stopped to ask if I needed help.

Maybe they're just disgusted by fat oily anglos?

this but unironically

wtf I love Scandinavia now??

Your old professor is a fucking faggot who never did anything with his shitty life.

This! I’ve sent people on goosechases across long country roads

where you there to beg for a job in the service industry?

Eh? I'm working here for a month and everyone is super friendly, also love the dry wit Norgays got, can have some nice banter with them too.

>more than once people stopped to ask if I needed help
aww

>t. canadian

No, I was there to see Radiohead

also
>implying swedish youth need to beg
You norwegians love us coming over there to work for oil-inflated salaries. We're not only polite and service-minded, but you get to feel smug too.

Nah, Flemish Belgian we also say eh.

But my guess is OP went to Lofoten or some other area that gets swarmed by tourists and locals are tired of it. I'm active in the Western part and spend my weekends in Bergen, i heard all the stereotypes about nordics being reserved etc but i go out on my own alone and always make friends on my nights out, hang out with rando's having good times, making jokes.

You snowcunts are alright.

This, you basically came at the worst time of year except for maybe january/february. At least in december/november people begin to feel christmas is coming up and the atmosphere gets steadily happier with anticipation, but october is probably the worst month. People still have the fresh memory of warm summer days, trees become bare and a lot of people are sick because they still dress like it's late summer.

Bergen is a celtic nation

Explain

like french people but worse

he's just joking, we are blessed to have swedes as our immigrant workers (alongside poles) instead of pakistanis or something

Who is worse than the french? Norwegians may be depressed but they aren't douchebags lol

I bet you've never met a Norwegian irl

I would never have expected it, but young norwegian guys are absolutely insufferable online. They're quiet and well behaved in public, but once they get online they become the most unfunny, autistic tardraging retards on the planet, all trying to out-edge each other with progressivly more edgy larp. What is wrong with our new generation?
Norgetråden is absolutely shameful. Thank god few understand norwegian.

Of course they asked if you needed help. Only a mentally disabled person stands in the middle of a road looking at a map instead of the sidewalk. It's our duty to ensure tards gets away safely from danger and not hindering traffic

We got plenty swedes like that on this board too. I think our climate, society, and infrastructure lend themselves well to the development of autistic shitposters.

>(alongside poles)
Either this user is a polish scum, or he has never once had the displeasure of working with them or living anywhere near them. I know of a carpenter that has come here for 11 seasons and he still refuses to speak a single word of norwegian, and his english is absolutely horrid.

I feel as if there's far more norwegian Jow Forums Jow Forums bots per capita than even USA for some reason.
I guess it's our individualist culture where being a failure still lets you live well enough, so they develop some kinda self inflated sense of worth despite being socially incompetent retards

>I guess it's our individualist culture where being a failure still lets you live well enough, so they develop some kinda self inflated sense of worth despite being socially incompetent retards
I think that's spot on. We emphasise everyone's right to choose their own life, whilst providing the choice of doing fuckall with it and shitpost online as the neetbucks roll in.

Part of it is Janteloven, of course, as discussed earlier in the thread.
In addition, there's the matter of where you went to, because extremely rural places and frequent tourist destinations tend to have people who at best don't care and at worst don't like tourists.
Also, what people have been saying about the changing of the season is absolutely true, melancholy's hitting me pretty hard these days.
It's also, past janteloven, just...cultural, we don't like small talk or yapping needlessly, or being pulled into social situations we hate. Simply, it's how we are like said in and This being said, while we're kinda reserved and slow to trust, if you do befriend a Norwegian you've got a solid friend for pretty much life, in my experience at least.

Personally, I moved up to Tromso, which is a tourist town and university town, and I quite enjoy it - it's big enough there's always something to do, but small enough it doesn't get stuffed with people, even when the tourists come.
Speaking of, I've made it a hobby to help out very obviously struggling tourists (and they're easy to spot), and it's usually very nice.
I find americans to be very pleasant, if a bit loud, while chinks are more autistic than us, somehow, and distinctly unpleasant in most cases.
I remember coming across an older french couple, and they didn't speak a lick of English - luckily, I'd taken french in high school, and I managed to fire up the basics and walk them to their hotel. It was a hell of a compliment when the husband took my hand and said "Thank you" in english to me when we reached the destination.
Also, I may or may not have dragged an american with me to taste various local treats, "mexican cola" (because we use sugar and not HFCS), and then our local alcohol. Turns out he used to be a banker, and then decided to take a year off and bike through europe. We made friends with another banker at the bar, and drank until I had to get home.

>no J60 Land Cruiser

i dont care if they are old cars, no excuses

we don't buy sw*dish cars anymore, Snorri
the tesla model X isn't #1 most popular but it's like #2

i love that people who overpay to visit Norway get sandbagged by all the locals

stay based snow autists

Coming from as a guy who's born Chilean but grew up and raised in Norway all my life. I've been living in this country since 2002.I had to say living in Norway isn't really that bad, but it does have downsides in this country. I do love Norway and their culture and nature. But sometimes I felt I don't really want to stay on this country all the time, I just want to go back to my brith country. Norwegians in general are socially closed and shy, and majority of Norwegians looks depressing amd are depressed. I felt happier living in Chile because Chileans are usually socially open and happy. All the ""Norway is the happiest country"" is just lies form the media, of coruse some Norwegians are happy but a lot of Norwegians aren't really happy at all. It really shows the actual proof that money doesn't buy hapiness, you could have a lot of money and possesion and still be depressed and literally dead inside. Money can't make you happy at all. Pretty much everything in this country are fucking expensive. I'm not really worrying about it, two years after I'm done with high school (videregående) I could finally deserve a long vacation in Chile or just actually living here.
Morals in life: Money and possesion CAN'T buy hapiness

Imagine being this upset about shitposters.
