I was in charge of the breakfast
I woke up before everyone else on the team and set up the dining room. When everything was ready I opened the gates for clients

It's a self service so my job is to make sure the people never lack anything. If I see the milk fountains are down I fill them, if there are no more cereals I open some more, same for everything else related to breakfast like honey, bread, yogurts, ham, cheese, eggs, fruits etc

I also have to take care of a "pic nic" area. Basically clients who register the day before are entitled to a bag that countain everything they need to eat on the ski slopes (biscuits, orange juice, fruits) and various salads and meats to make sandwhiches. I have to check the list and give each entitled people their bags

At some point I close the gate and proceed to take down everything I set up in the morning, put everything back in fridges, étuves, closests...And clean everything so the room is ready to be set up by my colleague for the lunch. I only clean the self service area, the area with the tables is cleaned by the cleaning section of the hotel

Then I have a 30mn break to eat with my colleagues, and during the lunch while they are busy doing what I was doing alone in the morning I mind my own business and prepare stuff for the next morning.
That means cutting new meat and ham slices, opening up new honey pots, jams, butters, cereals, getting new fruits from the reserve downstairs as well as milk (around 90L for a single morning), coffee etc.
I have to prepare everything the day before because during the morning rush I don't have time to go downstairs and open stuff, everything has to be close by and reachable in a couple seconds

I also spend a LOT of my time answering stupid questions and sometimes dealing with the occasional vegans who's upset there aren't many options for his kind. It makes me practice my English a lot tho since most the clientele is foreign

Yeah I really don't like eating this fast but we eat the same stuff the clients eat and frankly it's basically a big ass school restaurant as far as quality goes (we're a bootleg Club Med and have to feed around 600 people) so the food isn't good enough to justify a 2h long meal anyway

Not working the evening is cool, this way when I'm 100% done with work around 14h I can spend the whole afternoon exhausting myself skiing without having to worry being ready for the evening service
