I like to play in cooperative, realistic, and tactical modes. Player vs. player isn't that great. If you want pvp, then go for Teamfortress or Quake series.

It depends on how much you like larping with 30 years old boomers. It's a typical milsim with very good graphics. Still needs lots of optimization and fixing in general until release. I thought the test weekend was enjoyable.

How is dwarf fortress challenging? Once you get past the initial learning curve there are quite a few tricks that trivialize danger. I would say adventure mode is a more challenging just because of all the bullshit
