How come depression and suicide is so rampant in Belgium when none of their neighbouring countries seem to suffer?
How come depression and suicide is so rampant in Belgium when none of their neighbouring countries seem to suffer?
Everything is severally dull, almost sinister in some places
anglos probably must pay fees if they kill themselves, southerners are doing la siesta
still depressed that they're not part of the netherlands anymore
We're not the most social people, at least in Flanders, i could be projecting though. In Wallonia they probably kill themselves out of poverty.
>Flanders
Come home white man
What do you mean by "dull"? Mudane? Grey and boring? You definitely haven't seen eastern Europe.
I have always viewed the Flemish as the Finns of western Europe. Do you think that's an accurate description?
depression is rampant everywhere, in italy too, the fact that people won't go to a psychiatrist and won't get included in data collection is another thing
And half of those thar aren't depressed is because they have already gone to the shrink and live by daily prescripted mood enhancing drugs.
Such is life these days.
Pobably yeah, i have actually been to Finland quite recently and i'd say that they're just a little bit more autistic than us.
>croatia
well fugg
Actually it's way more festive and warm in Wallonia in terms of general atmosphere, flemish people are a bit stuck up in my experience
People, building and everything surrounding me looks lifeless
you literally live in a fairy tale world though
how can you get depress
Trauma from being ravaged by the German bulls 100 years ago.
keep posting 2d booty pls
Those areas are for rich people and tourists, not for the average citizen who most likely lives in a neighbourhood like pic rel, now it's getting cold so streets are desertic
Here's a more up-to-date map
>2010 was almost an entire decade ago
fucking hell it feels like time stopped moving at around 2008
>Eastern Europe tier
I should probably move to the Netherlands. Dutch women like men speaking with a flemish accent right?
Looking at Russia's aura of despair never fails to amuse me
Moving wouldn't help, friend. The Flemish spirit will haunt you wherever you go.
You have never been to Lorraine...
>Belgium sad because wallonia is dirt poor
>Hungary is a shadow of its former self
>The Baltics know they are Russian states
>Finland is the most autistic barren land
>Poland got BTFO in World War 2
>Belarus & half of Ukraine want back in Russia
>Croatia and Serbia deeply regret the war
>Austria can't find a cure to BDSM
>France is the most romantic nation on earth
>Slovenia has been a tennis ball for ages
>Meanwhile Turkic Bosnians are super happy
BTW drugs in Scandinavia kill way more than the highest suicide rate
>all this angst around us
Slovakia and Germany confirmed for best neighbours once again.
>implying Bohemia is not rightful German clay like Switzerland, Austria and Alsace
>17.9-32.9 suicide per 100.000
it's literally nothing.
are you fucking serious? That's an entire neighborhood every year in a city like Paris
>depression
It clearly says “suicide rates”, the OP has nothing to do with depression
A godless land, it's only culture is wage slaving and consumerism
it's fucking BELGIUM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Italy didn't seem depressing when I was there. What happens?
well, i just assumed belgium struggles a lot with depression as well. it is kind of grim there.
Don't listen to the other Belgians in the thread. Belgium is a beautiful with amazing architecture and beautiful cities. Most villages are very average looking and not at like the cherrypicked photos the others posted. The people are kind like in most places around the world you just need to talk to them. I don't know where these other anons are or what kind of a life they lead but it isn't the average way of Belgian living if that's what they think of Belgium
How would you describe the Belgian people? How come you are so different than your Dutch neighbours?
I can't speak for the Walloons but the Flemish are less loud and a tad less "progressive" than the Dutch though I've always had help when I got in trouble. If you walk around happy demeanor in calmer areas you will always get a smile and nod from the people you pass. Most of the differences come from the fact that we were ruled by the Spanish for a longer time than the Dutch I think. The bloodycourt might have left some scars or something.
