Chungking Express
Eternal sunshine. reminds me of the feelings I felt when I got separated from my wife, then divorced and now still talking. I saw this movie a decade ago.
Cast Away
LotR because it introduced me to the world Tolkien built.
That and Saving Private Ryan might be my favorite Tom Hanks movie
Tom Hanks is unintentionally hilarious in all the characters he plays as
Aliens is better
The Hobbit didn't need to be made into 3 separate movies for 1 short story
>The Hobbit
Never happened as far as I'm concerned.
>Aliens is better
based and redpilled
>What is Jow Forums's favorite movie
that's ONE movie, and it's pic related
>What are Jow Forums's favorite movies
that's SEVERAL movies, and i ain't making a list right now
but mostly it's Spielberg's old hits
That's a good choice
once Upon A Time In America
I really really hate the moral of this movie
Blade Runner
Why?
main character is very egoistic
he could die anytime of heart disease yet through cheating, he gets to partake on a space mission, putting the lives of his fellow astronauts and millions of taxpayers money at risk
>through cheating
Did you actually watched the movie?
This is my "watch it once or twice every year" and still love it to death movie.
Bridge over the River Kwai is my watch every 4 or so years and be blown away every time favorite move.
how is pretending that he is somebody else not cheating?
ahaha
most "freedom fighter" movies are like this actually
>what about the people that didn't want to get disconnected from the Matrix??
>what will happen to Capitol now that Katniss destroyed it all??
>what about Mars changes in enviroment at the end of Total Recall?
and so and so. *shrug* Hollywood, mang
Bangkok Chickboys
Eh. If we are talking about this kind of cheating then I guess it's true but that's hardly a bad thing since he only not even took but recevied Law's identity. Anyway, the part about him suddenly dying is bullshit since the chances of that happening were as high as everyone elses on that ship. Also
>taxpayers money
Angel's Egg
he literally said himself that his death is overdue
the protagonist was a very egoistic person who only thought about his own dreams and completely disregarded the wellbeing of his fellow astronauts, or what a blow a failure would deal to the exploration of space, to the scientific community and to the dreams and passion of millions of little boys and girls
and that's the moral of the movie, even tho the german is partially right:
you can't let labels limit you, you gotta be stronger, faster, higher
>he literally said himself that his death is overdue
but it wasn't a preprogrammed death
he was a "God's child", a factor of random was in him unlike the other lab-created children
don't confuse Gattaca with Blade Runner lol
The Last Samurai? More like The First Weeb.
I liked Whiplash quite a lot.
>to the dreams and passion of millions of little boys and girls
Like his? He comited everything to make this dream come true and he was preparing for it most of his life. It may look egoistic to other people but he was sure that he could do that job better than anyone and was right about that. Also every major undertaking has certain risk.
Just because he is the protagonist doesn't mean his dreams are more valuable than the dreams of others.
There is no god-given right to become an astronaut, if he really wanted it so badly he should have become a self-made millionaire and go to space with his own money
>There is no god-given right to become an astronaut
lol but literally the batch of humans that were selected as astronauts were given rights by birth to do that
they just replaced God with Science, that's all
So what, he was supposed to just give up his position cause he's scared that he could die on the ship and then for some reason his partners would too? You serious?
I think he was a very egoistic person and I hate that the movie portrays his motives as noble
eh not really, only "God's children" like him were weeded out from the selection process. It is no different than today, where people with genetics defects will be never able to become astronauts
I had severe diarrhea the first time I watched this movie.
I am literally unable to associate it with anything else now.
he did pass all the physical and mental training though
and yet
>he was a very egoistic person and I hate that the movie portrays his motives as noble
*shrug* Hollywood mang
remember "Once upon a time in the West"? did the man with a harmonica wanted to make life better for everyone or was just a selfish man with a vengeance?
based and redpilled
cringe and soipilled
I will never not drop everything and watch this film.
It's not high art, it's not in possession of a grand message, it IS a good time, particularly if you've got a few good friends to watch it with.
>muh egoism
This is pretty much a movie about individualism so your hate for his character is fucking dumb. Also if you are going to whining about other people then consider how much he is going to be of us to humanity if this mission succeeds.
Besides that you are placing your other arguments on the fact that there is a high probability that would die when that's literally not the case. This whole movie is about how his willpower and strong spirit got him to where wanted to be, against all odds. Now that Vincent was going to that place he dreamt about I sure as hell don't see how that could change and cause his death.
eh
it had a hell of a soundtrack at least
youtube.com
this is a good film, I'm quite a fan of G&S, I've sadly only ever seen it once on Nteflix, for some reason it hasn't been in their collection since ~2014
everyone is like entitled to their own opinion man
The holy mountain and borat
It's been over a year since I last saw it. Time to watch it again.
a childhood fav, space new york really impressed me, love the high tech contemporary feel of the place
French cinema really is some of the best
no idea why the meme "french cinema is too artsy and intellectual" is prevalent though, they can do some damn fun movies
black rain
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children COMPLETE
It's the shit.
Definitely
>no idea why the meme "french cinema is too artsy and intellectual" is prevalent though
It's prevalent because the French have contributed a lot to cinema. You can't study film without learning about French cinema and therefore people will meme that the only people that watch french films are snobby film students.
YiYi (2000)
i see, memes come from general ignorance
btw i said i wasn't going to make a list out of the movies (plural) i like but i'm ending up posting 3 of them
i also agree with almost all choices in this thread. Jow Forums is definitely one of the patrician-est boards
>young Depardieu

Can you help me?
Whats the japanese (hobo?) Is telling to Nick after Charlie's death, when Joyce cames and give it something (?).
Lawrence of Arabia
His chance of dying was much higher. His heart rate during exercise was far higher than everyone else. That is a problem.
matumoto said to nick that if i stay with him , this kind of things never happened.
and this is japans custom , when friend died , you get relic from dead friend.
Nick gave police badge to matumoto .nick get Charlie's gun
Thanks for the answer but that's not the scene, the one I described it's way before.
Just after Charlie's death, Nick is crying in a night street, alone, and there is a Japanese besides him guy telling something to Nick. Joyce comes and gives something to this guy.
I really don't know what's this guy is talking about and what Joyce gives him.
After this scene Nick goes to Joyce apartment and Matsumoto comes
ok i found it
maybe rainy on bridge ?、some beggar said mister im so hungry ,
joyce come there and gave small coin and said ,you buy something for food
Yeah love this. Mist rewatchable film ever

kes is good rate but not released in japan
i like his movie s expression for nomal people. nomal life ,
Of course each movie have different theme
Not sure if The Living Daylights is my favourite movie but it is the first one that comes to mind. Maybe it's a tie between it and Bitva za Moskvu.
The only film I've watched several times
I love this film so much
Picrel - probably the most realistic mafia movie of the era.
Also, San Babila, ore 20.
>i like his movie s expression for nomal people. nomal life ,
i agree. his films are very honest and serve as accurate representations of british working class life in their respective eras. mike leigh is another british director who makes good gritty, realistic british dramas.
AMERIKANSKIIIIII
