Just found out I am pretty much guaranteed to develop early onset alzeihmers... it runs in my family and my siblings escaped. I however will probably go the way of 2 uncles, my father, grandfather and great grandfather. All started showing symptoms in their 40s.

I just turned 30 not that long ago and I've worked hard all my life and managed to save up $500k

I have a girlfriend but we're separated now because she is kinda shook with the prognosis.

I need $2500 a month to live comfortably and peacefully until an hero before the worst of it comes....

I've been told to just go the mr money moustache route and get vanguard funds and live off of 7% of the $500k

Is this the best I can do? I just don't want to work my soul sucking job anymore. I just want to be in my apartment, work out, smoke cannabis hoping it will delay the onset and enjoy my woodshop. I like to make board games with high quality wood.

sorry to depress but if anyone has a solid plan for passive income from $500k I am all ears.

>an hero before the worst of it comes

it will change your personality, if it even starts to come before you've killed yourself you'll never actually do it

not to pressure you into doing it early or anything, just saying once the disease actually starts developing you won't be the same person who decided to an hero before it started

Bum rap OP sorry to hear it

If you’re set on fixed income you can think about Prosper or LendingTree; the peer to peer ones may get your yield up above 7%. You could also set up a bond ladder which would be indefinite: munis are tax free (but only for the state you live in!) which helps. You could also shop your half mil to banks and see what yield they would offer. That said 500k would last 200 months of 2500 per month withdrawls.

You could grow weed too, could help.

>t. 30 with 110k

Learn another language also mate
Preferably a hard one like Russian or perhaps one that has to do with your family heritage
That can stave the illness of by 5 years, I hear

learn to play the piano

thank you will look into muni bonds

thank you that sounds like fun. I've always wanted to read russian literature classics

currently learning the guitar!

Me too user. 30 yo here, grandfather was a mess by the end and dad's starting to get a bit loopy. Might get 20 or 30 more decent years though, which is fair enough.

good on you for keeping positive. I hope to get there. practicing gratitude seems to help. Sounds like you have the right attitude already.

Sorry to hear OP, I lost my grandmother to Alzheimers and it wasn't pretty for anyone involved. She was strong as hell all the way through to the end, it seriously inspired me to change the way I live from a young age.

Anyway, consider this - by your own predictions you have a solid 10 -15 years of NEET time. It is perfectly feasible that during this time radical treatment to perhaps not cure, but at least significantly delay/mitigate the symptoms will arise. There is serious and tangible hope, there are many many happy and healthy years ahead of you my friend.

If i were you I wouldn't totally quit working, but use your savings to allow yourself to comfortably work an easy but fulfilling part time job. You will get bored very quickly otherwise and you need to keep yourself active and engaged, but above all, social.

Everything will be okay.

Read up on cannabis and alzheimer's. There's hope for you yet but you'll be getting the munchies a lot

You should just live your life because they might find a cure in no time.

That’s sad bizbro we all are going out one way or another, all any of us can do is make the best of the time we have

Just wanna say it’s nice to venture into a biz thread with some good vibes. OP man you have my sympathies, you do you and live 10 lifetimes worth in the next 10-15 years.

Godspeed user.

In your later years take a shit on nootropics and look for ground breaking experimental treatments.

There could be a cure in 10 years. My advice would be to not change your life too much..

And sorry to hear bro..

sorry bro I hope you get well.

Advice: Be selfish. If you do not have kids or wife help some your parents and spend rest on travel around the world. In asia or easter europe you can live on nice level for like $700 per month. Meet new people, new cultures, taste new food and drugs. Start to celebrate your life and and know price of time.
I hope you get well, oh and keep at least few bitcoins

shkreli will cure that shit

i dont have any tips im sorry, just wanted to say im surprised biz is actually compassionate and giving legit advice

I truely am sorry to read this. I am 39 and already am showing signs of the same problems. I can truely relate. I do not have your funds just came to give my support for you user. I'm sure i'll forget all this in a few hours like everything else but you still have my support.

Maybe it won't be so bad OP.
I figure it's just like being high on weed all day.

Look into sleep related research, there's a chance you don't get enough NREM sleep, quite likely infact. NREM allows the glymphatic system to flush out plagues building up. Recent research has demonstrated that entrainment of brainwaves through sound at night can increase overall amplitude of waves related to NREM sleep allowing more time to flush out the shit thats potentially clogging up your nuerons. You could potentially buy an EEG cap and implement thier research before they release a version themselves. Could buy you some time. Track your sleep either way and try to get as much as you can.

alzeihmers is consequence of ejaculation and eating meat and dairy. do 5 min of research before sentencing yourself to death. idr care. you sound like a pussy.

Yeah, you read the book "why we sleep" by Matthew Walker?

Horrible news user. I cant imagine what you are going through.

>I just want to be in my apartment, work out, smoke cannabis hoping it will delay the onset and enjoy my woodshop.

I wouldn't suggest this. You would sleep your life away. Take some money and go traveling.

Do you find ancient Rome or Greece fascinating? Take a trip and see the still standing ancient ruins, coliseum, temple of Antoninus etc. Take the bull by the horns and go backpacking through Europe, Asia, Even North America. It really does not cost that much money.

Seriously dudes poor sleep quality has direct correlation with early onset Alzheimer's and dementia. Read a book called why we sleep, it may help. Cognitive Psych researcher here. Good luck, runs in my family too and my sleep quality is shit have been working on improving it lately and even if it doesn't delay onset it has made my brain fog dissapate enough to enjoy whatever time I have left before this insipid disease creeps in.

Yep interesting shit. Scary shit too.

Seriously though, learn a 2nd language. Ive been learning an asian language for the same reason, it improves the health of your brain, staves off alzheimers, and then you can go vacation wherever one day and use it.

Biz is usually very compassionate when people have serious issues in life. That's one of the reasons why I like it here.

real advice here

start taking large amounts of CBD asap
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25024347

I would recommend buying 99.9% pure isolates online, its legal in the states

Look up Dr. Dispenza and start meditating. Learning languages, constant new skills, and aerobic exercise are the best. It’s all about building new neural connections and strengthening them before the disease surface.

user...I'm really sorry. My heart goes out to you, bro. No one should go through this. If it helps, I've heard that coconut oil is good for the brain, maybe you could research about that.

Best of look, desu. I honestly and genuinly wish you the best.

Watch your diet. Diet is key. This is not emphasized at all by neurologists.

Alzheimer's is often referred to as Diabetes Type 3 or diabetes of the brain.

Avoid refined sugar and carbs. Don't binge on candy and ice cream and don't reduce intake of pastas and white/refined bread. Do not consume excessive sugar regularly.

Eat food with high quality fats to lubricate that mother fuckin' brain. You gotta keep that brain juicy and oily.
Eat all kinds of fish. The fattier the better. Avocados, almonds, flax seeds, krill oil & fish oil from high quality, non-chinese sources. Sardines, oysters, smoked oysters.

Eat spicy food occasionally to heat your blood and reduce inflammation. Put fresh ginger and garlic in your food and take large doses of turmeric with high concentration of curcumin.

I'm telling you this cuz I love you and you need to know this information. Not enough people understand that they can reduce the aggressive grip of early onset Alzheimer's. You can help yourself.

If serious about a possible prevention method - research the Keto (Ketogenic) diet and its effect on Alzheimer's

Godspeed OP

this is very helpful. However CRISPR has heavy promise to the solution of ending Alzheimer's.
