Just lost 1 thousand dollars player online poker. I think I may have a gambling problem. I'm too embarrassed to get help. Only reason I haven't gambled my last cent is because everything is in cold storage basically all in crypto. Should I just put the last few grand in silver idk how else to keep myself from losing money I know I'm not good.

I'm down 4k man. Go get help if you feel like you need it. I'm not even 20 and considered GA.
Good luck bizbro. Ask the site you play on to ban your IP & Account.
PS, don't chase losses. They're gone. Never coming back
Lost 600 dollars in XLM on a crypto betting site lol fuck. The key is to have serious nonegotiavle stop losses.
pro poker player here. i quit poker and went all in on crypto lmao what r u doing
>Ask the site you play on to ban your IP & Account.
Thanks I didn't even know you could do this.
It’s strange I’ve been visiting this board for years and never seen a poker thread. And I just randomly decided to learn poker today, then I come here , and here you are. I could swear you are all just figments of my imagination.
Anyhow, anybody got any tips for me as a beginner?
Enjoy losing money online. Live is ok but online you will never win. Its not 2010 anymore
Position is probably the most important thing starting out, closely followed by starting hand strength.
2+2 is a good poker forum, and there's endless strategy guides on JewTube. Start out playing ABC and go from there. I think PokerStars has play money for beginners.
Have you ever heard of Wagerr. Be the house and gamble on a solid cyrpto project
online is incredibly hard. Poker is harder than chess. There's so many variables the rabbit hole goes deep. Good luck.
just buy 1 link and by eoy you'll have covered your losses my dude
I'd rather shove 83o against aces than buy wagrrr
Get help even if it's difficult. Ban yourself from all sites. I've won close to 7figs playing against guys like you... You don't have a chance to win money in the long run as an amateur. Online poker has gotten so competitive that your odds are better playing roulette (stay away from that too though). I've talked to guys who have lost EVERYTHING to poker (not just money): their wives, their houses, their friends, their jobs, their family etc. This could EASILY be you in a few months in you don't get help.
Pic related is my last 12 months just to prove I'm not LARPing.
sir your problem isnt gambling its bankroll management
you can be a losing player thats just playing for entertainment as long as you have proper bankroll management it will never really be catastrophic.
but yea if you understand proper bankroll management, and acknowledge you're not a winning player and still refuse, then yea you're just being reckless. might as well just play slots at that point.
you're pretty late to the party dude. read dozens of books mostly focusing on what game you want to play(i like full ring tournament holdem personally). dont bother putting money in, you can find private freerolls from various poker forums and stuff. the best ones you'll get a free $1 entry ($100 prizepool 100 participants ), i wouldnt waste my time with less than like .50c free(public freerolls are like a free .01c)
once you've read dozens of books and managed to win a couple freerolls, then proper bankroll management is supremely important.
Checked I got some links. If ChainLink comes through it'll literally save me from my degenerative sins.
I lost about 10k on Etheroll when I only had about 25k in crypto.
>it'll literally save me from my degenerative sins.
assuming you don't just gamble that away like a retard too
Ill be able to gamble on cash flow producing assets but I'm not well off enough to just go out and buy some rental properties. Regardless I'll be all in the rest of my life on whatever I do unfortunately you're right
Thanks will check it out. If I have my shit together enough to know the hands (best hands possible for the play) to know what my ‘outs’ are and probability’s , do I stand a chance? I’ve literally just spent 6 hours researching this shit and will probably spend 12 tomorrow.
Wtf does that even mean
That's impressive man. Thanks for the input.
Ty. Please don’t take it as inspiration though.. It’s extremely difficult to make it in online poker and usually takes years of studying (and even then most people fail). I even tell all my friends to stay away from online poker. I hope you manage to quit or just play for money you can afford to lose for fun. If I was you I’d just quit. It can be difficult to control you addiction if you allow yourself to play at all.
I’m the same guy, just changed IP.
no thats just gambling. if you havent read 5-10 poker books at an absolute minimum then there's a 0% chance you'll be a winning player
i mean anyone can win, but only winning players are profitable over time. and for them its really not gambling, it's asserting their edge and waiting.
No not even close. Just start out by playing micro stakes/ play money for fun. If you’re serious about it pay for a training site. It will most likely take months of practicing/studying before you MAYBE can beat just 5c/10c. Online poker is by no means easy money nowadays. It’s insanely competitive - even at low stskes.
Me lost $500 longing EURO ;_;
Fuck I wouldn't even know where to start. You are going to lose for a very long time before you figure out what's going in. Read like you were in college studying for this shit, play millions of hands, review hand histories, figure out what you're best at ie. Cash games, sngs, mtts, heads up etc. and practice it. I like 6-max cash games and heads up the most, but that's just me. Never go on tilt. Bankroll management is priority #1 no matter what level you're at, but even moreso when you're new so have at least 100 buy-ins so you're not scared money and just play alot. Feels good when you can multi-table on auto-pilot or spot tells in a live game, but even I stopped playing poker because crypto is less stressful believe it or not. I wanted to get back into it though because I love the game and crypto has been boring lately.
