Regardless of the fact it works is there any real use case for this or is it just a meme use case to sell bags? Is there an actual market for computing power?

Are you fucking retarded? Do you even google?

It got released yesterday and it's on test net until main net in some weeks. So no real use case for now. But wtf do you expect? Team delivers on date and will have a public marketplace in some weeks.

>Is there an actual market for computing power?

Are you a fucking brainlet? Cloud computing market will be 500b market cap by 2020. DYOR

Market for computing power? Don't you own your own computer? Why would you need someone else to compute for you?

Is this you?

Well, he calls you a brainlet but this is the way I see it. Apart from hackers trying to brute force people's passwords I can't imagine actually needing all that computing power. It's not fast enough for realtime, so from what I heard it can't be used for websites being DDOS attacked etc. It's only going to process theoretical shit like AI simulations. Exactly how much that is worth is what I'm asking. Gonna need a source on that 500b number.

No I don't have a liver for a brain. That seems impractical.

This is a good read.

from what i understand, researchers, scientists, academia, those would be the target for something like this. thats about it. dont beleive lies saying otherwise. your average nerd doesnt need a million gigabytes of computing power or some shit

It doesnt work. Their SDK is bogus and their first use case is like 20 lines of JSON that doesnt do anything brainlets

>Amazon Web Service (AWS)

>Microsoft Azure

>Google Cloud Platform

>IBM Cloud

>Alibaba Cloud

This competition has me spooked, why can't these companies make a product like iexec?

Why would centralized cloud providers want to decentralize computing power.
It's like asking why the US government won't make a Cryptocurrency.

expand their markets and utilize idle infrastructure.

I came up with an idea for a site using RLC. I'll give it you guys because I'm not that attached to it.

DeepFake creation studio. Upload a porn video and upload tons of photos of a single person and then the site will make a DeepFake for you.

Legality is in question here, but it's all technically feasible. And plus you don't have to have any servers to make this happen, just to have the face swapping software ready to go on IExec and people will pay to have it done.

What idle infrastructure? Don't they already have all their servers working at capacity for their users?
They're already doing what iexec does just centralized.

This is what I come here for.

You think you're smarter than a bunch of PHD geniuses?

And to think Ubisoft, RSK, and TFCloud partnered with these guys, what were they thinking. Also the Intel collaboration what a bunch of idiots.

kek this

dapps.iex.ec

You can use iexec api to offload tasks from your dapp/program/website for pennys per call

You almost have to be a developer to realize how amazing this truely is

can you make a truly high performing decentralized app on the iexec dapp marketplace?

yes
the high performance version of iexec comes in 2020. buy before then = rich af

You do realize iexec is the FIRST of it's kind? It's literally the decentralized version of those mainstream services. If you cannot see the incoming massive value for RLC you will always be poor

RLC will also be a marketplace for data after v3

this is the argument against 99% of cryptos
