I'm an engineer making 100k-110k and rent out two rooms that cover my mortgage (but not utilities. but I'm 28 and had a rough start. (Was homeless and legit lived out of my car for a few months in the past) I just got this job beginning of year and have never made more than 20/hr before this.
If I hit $1M I'd def pay off the student loan and cc but I'm not sure about the mortgage (it's 2.6 percent, crazy!)
Will I be worth 1M and what decisions would you make if you hit 1M given my situation?
My life goal is to live off of passive income and not work as an engineer, so I want to figure out how to make that happen.
Also, forgot to add that I am a veteran and current house is through VA loan.
If I paid off the house, I could probably rent it out for $1600-1800 a month and use the VA loan to get an even nicer house in a non nignog neighborhood. You can only take out one VA loan at a time but the interest rates are retarded low.
Great start at losing everything cuz you believe shills.
Jonathan Watson
I think you have a very good chance if we see another bull run this year. I'd actually pick up some LINK and PRL, for insurance if not anything else, but they both have some hefty goals, and if they execute, will make you a lot of money. Good luck with the Debt!
William Stewart
is the VA loan just another cuck ploy to prey on us vets or is it legit? I was thinking about using it cause why the fuck not. could rent out the house and get free $
Hudson Martin
The VA loan is fucking incredible. Amazingly low interest rates, almost impossible not to get approved. Only caveat is that it HAS to be your primary residence (where you live) I rent out rooms that cover the mortgage but I actually live there. I'm sure people rent it out, but the terms of the loan state that it needs to be your primary residence. It's one of the best vet benefits because it requires zero down payment. I could never have bought a home without the VA loan. It's nice to not be a slave to rent, and my home equity has risen while the amount owed on the mortgage has declined.
I highly recommend any veteran buy a home with the VA loan. It's literally the best home loan available in the US, but DYOR. The fact that you're a vet and don't know this is bothersome. You're supposed to have training on it before separation.
Ethan Wright
Yeah, they might be overpriced due to hype, but they have sound fundamentals. There's a reason they're being shilled. LINK and RLC have good entry points now tho.
I've said this every time I've seen your folio. Yes, but buy more ELA
Brayden Sanders
Yeah I've been posting a lot and making slight tweaks. Have two weeks off so been spending too much time on biz.
Jack Murphy
Just out of morbid curiosity, what was your ATH in December?
Cooper Hernandez
Pretty fucking risky and no btc even. No homo i love you
Austin Long
kek, he dont have holo and NKN, legit moon mission this year. remove ark, nano shitcoins, they already priced in. buy upcoming moons like link, holo, nkn..etc
But also, I moved a lot of tokens around since then.
Brandon Flores
That sucks, hindsight being 20/20 and all, at the time it felt like a rocket with endless amounts of fuel.
I've found myself in a similar situation but with about half your capital at present, around 40k (ATH being 110K)
I hold some similar coins (rough percentages) 20% ARK, 20% VEN, 15% NEO, 15% LINK, 15% OMG, 15% ICX as well as some moonshots like Penta and HPB. Basically all the memes, then again, ETH was the same once upon a time.
Either way, good luck, I'd say you have a fair shot at 1m in 1-3 years.
Jose Murphy
In a pretty similar situation. Same ATH value as well. I would drop the VEN though
Why drop VEN? I'd genuinely like to know your opinion.
Andrew Evans
I like your portfolio.
You have many coins that I want to be in (BAT, NEO, SKY) but I'm too attached to my coins. I'm holding onto VEN because of the whole X node thing. If VEN proves to be a legit project I can use profits from some of my other moonshots to upgrade to strength X for 2x Thor generation. (Only 1.25X with Thor X node). Definitely not abandoning Ven since I made it into the X node program.
Elijah Wilson
So you invested 250k and have an 80k portfolio. You fucked up already.
Parker Turner
supply chain blockchains are a dead meme and ven has already mooned
Connor Kelly
ROFL. I invested 12k.
Lucas Collins
I hope you realize that your finances are EXTREMELY risky. This is terrible risk management if you want maximize your chances of having 1MM in 5-10 years. At least pay off your student debt.
Hudson Phillips
I do agree it has had an incredible run, possibly over bought but as OP was speculating on passive income do you not think VEN is one of the safer bets out there?
Alexander Fisher
Student loans are the cheapest, lowest interest form of loans out there besides a mortgage. My interest is 3.47 percent. My payment is like $230 a month. Cheap as fuck.
Andrew Garcia
Then you did pretty well, my mistake.
Ryder Hernandez
Id figure out how to become a node operator first and stake your link. Surprised I didn't see any in that sea of shit but wish you the best. You won't be 1MM EOY 2018.
Jaxson Brown
depends on the market, VA loan is beneficial depending on rate. People often use VA If they dont have the 20% down to dodge that fucking tax. I had the money and I got a better loan not using VA, so I didnt use it.
Sound goods feel free to add more fiat and shitcoins. I'll have 60k link here pretty soon if prices stay below 40 cents
Isaiah Ross
If not LARP, OP you’re legit a brainlet with zero handle on the concept of risk & reward. If you read attached pic and still don’t admit you’re gambling, then there’s no sympathy from me if you lose your shirt.
I've had nothing all my life. Always lived paycheck to paycheck. I have nothing to lose.
Hudson Reyes
>Definitely not abandoning Ven since I made it into the X node program. Thank you for your service. Here’s me giving back. X node gives you more Thor, but Thor may be worth less than a penny. So the main gain you should expect is on VET, if there’s any. It’s stupid to risk taking on VET lose in hopes of generating more pennies.
Good luck, and remember most of biz is retards or shills. Smart money cashed out in January.
Daniel Collins
I think what he's saying is why are you in coins that I'm really not sure are going to exist in 2 years? Unless you're trading and flipping profits into bitcoin/eth?
Gabriel Watson
I understand smart money cashed out in Jan, but I was way to new to crypto to know what to do. This shit is gaining so much momentum I think the next bubble will be between 3 and 10T. I think I'll cash out half when I see another graph that shoots straight up lol.
Levi Brown
Bro you’ll never have something to lose if you keep dumping paychecks into fucking altcoins. There is no other 10x coming unless the coin usurps one of the big 5 (unlikely- they’re there for a reason as first comers). Most of the tech in blockchain will be replicated privately before any particular coin reaches critical mass. Leave maybe 10% of your portfolio in crypto.
Ryan Parker
We almost the same you just got more guts than me but basically that's what happened I was at 130k ATH lol
Asher Evans
>10% of your net worth in crypto Found the boomer who takes advice from the fucking mark Cubano
Tyler Brown
Why wouldn't they exist in 2 years? Everything in crypto has changed since 2 years ago.
Brayden Jenkins
You might have 1M eoy. Ven, OMG, EOS, and Nano will give you a massive gain by eoy.
Jaxson Johnson
Meaning, there's actually good tech that can adapt. You really think these coins will die?
Hudson Murphy
Yes.
Nicholas Hall
You have too many shitcoins and not enough btc/eth.
Noah Roberts
I see a lot more potential gains in alts. BTC and eth have mooned many times over.
David Price
And how many Alts petered out and died?
Henry Gonzalez
The world is not anymore the way it used to be.
Jacob Gray
>link
lol .06 EOY mmw
Wyatt Morales
Good choice with BPT.
Grayson Jenkins
I agree. I know it's a bit of a way out but I'm excited nonetheless
