The history of Chancoin is actually really cool. It began as a scam by a guy called Andy but his recruited developers turned on him once they understood his intentions weren't good which made Andy vengeful using his capital to attack the network so that his pre-mine would be accessible again. This lead to negotiations which made a settlement where Andy kept a limited amount of his funds. This was sometime late summer-autumn 2017. After that the project moved forward under a legit "team" led by a Gossamer, at this time the discord community surrounding these legit devs along with the devs were organizing the daily Chancoin get threads on Jow Forums.
Later though, sometime before the ATH of the coin a parallel discord where people using faces such as these
as avatars claimed to represent the project while having nothing with the genuine project to do. These face people pulled off an extensive P&D with pajeet shill tactics resulting in the ath of the coin and a good pyramid top profit no doubt for the face-guys. To my knowledge the devs with genuine intentions are at least still governing the project although they never called out the P&D "because the publicity was good"which is scetchy in my eyes. A lot of intermittent drama of course occured in the community, some which probably deserve notion but I wasn't that involved and my memory fails me.
