Do asians see the latin alphabet same way europeans see for example the Japanese and Chinese alphabets? (weird moonrunes)
Do asians see the latin alphabet same way europeans see for example the Japanese and Chinese alphabets...
Fraktur is another thing
I randomly picked a picture but yeah I meant specially the latin one (pic related)
>alphabets
they don't have alphabets (arguably not true for japanese)
because of this they probably see it quite differently than we see theirs
when we see a character in chinese or japanese it's likely something we've never seen before, because there are thousands of them, and therefore might look more foreign
whereas when they look at latin, they'd see letters repeat
also I think japanese are familiar with the latin script, regardless of their english skill
so moonrunes are weirder to us than latin is to them is my guess
Latin alphabet strikes me as way less alien than simplified Chinese character does for some reason, albeit kanji is supposed to have derived from it. your alphabet is almost like the 4th type of letters for the Japanese, along with hiragana, katakana and kanji.
Doesn't Korean use an alphabet?
I think koreas operate with an alphabet. You're right in that mandarin is tonal, though.
also keep in mind Latin alphabet is so ubiquitous here and there none of us see them for the first time when we start learning the letters
I misread OP
I thought he was only talking about china and japan
yeah the koreans have an alphabet
I wonder if some dreamy Roman ever imagined his alphabet will be understood in every corner of the world.
its way too common to be seen as a moonrune
honestly latin was already being used in the whole known world (europe) so its nothing new
if only
then again greek is probably a pain for cursive
Where is U?
"U/u" wasn't used during the Roman period
Those lowercase k and uppercase V throw me off each time I try to read it.
I see Greek/Cyrillic alphabets as runes but Latin alphabets are too common
Some user says above that they are our 4th official alphabets and I completely agree to that.
If there is a person who lives here and does not understand latin alphabets he/she might be a serious retard.
Look at Russian cursive
Isn't rōmaji used somewhat often interwoven into sentences in Japan? I figure they are able to use 4 different (kanji, 2 kanas and rōmaji) transcription methods to mirror their 4 unique seasons due to their large brains and superior intelligence.
They used V instead, that where the meme comes from because larpers started spelling words like evopa like that unironically
If the Romans used Georgian Mkhedruli script, everything would be more aesthetic.
If anyone in Japan can't read a sign that says "karaoke" instead of カラオケ then they might be actually retarded.
All these moonrunes are actually hard even for natives, they were created by the elite to deprive lower castes/classes from education. Most people in countries like Korea or Japan or even China have no problem learning laten script as pointed out cuz that is only 26 fucking letters anyway while very few people even among those who try could learn Chinese/Korean/etc.
kanji make reading much faster. its like traffic signs which pack a whole word or concept into one symbol. of course you gotta learn the symbols first.
pic related for example packs a whole sentence in one symbol.
This desu. Georgian letters are pure kino
Tooting is banned in this area?
