Argentina

Has anyone traveled to Argentina?
Was it good?
And will I be safe there traveling all by myself?

I'm interested in the country as I heard many say it has the best beef steak in the whole world but I'm not very rich and can't afford tickets to overseas quite often.

I don't see any reason why it'd be unsafe. But yes, asado / Argentinian barbecue is fucking wicked. I would also like to go there but I think they don't like English people.

Yeah I was in Argentina a year ago, it was very nice and also it was very interesting to visit South America for the first time.
I heard it can be unsafe although personally nothing bad happened to me, just avoid going to shitty places at night and you should be fine.
Also it can be surprisingly expensive (restaurant prices are similar to Western European ones), so be prepared for that

god wish i were in Ushuaia

Literally nothing will happen to you for being a brit, just don't wear a tee with brit flag on it or whatever and you'll be fine.

It depends, nothing will happen to you but you need to be careful. If you don't wear retarded shit like a huge backpack people will think you're just a Chinese immigrant, we have thousands of them here so you will blend easily in less touristic hoods like Flores, once, etc (if you want to visit some other places most tourist don't go TO)

I'm flattered by your meat statement!we take alot of pride in our meat and I imagine it's relatively cheap and affordable to what you usually buy in your home country

You probably will be safe if you don't make it to obvious that you are a tourist

At the moment 100 yen =36 pesos and a decent meal might cost somewhere between 100 and 200 pesos so idk whether that's cheap to you or not

Argentina is not white so I would be cautious if I were you.

Would like to but they're incredibly hostile to the English, so I will just view the place through Google Maps instead.

Yes but stay out of especially poor areas since your a foreigner and could get scammed or mugged. Argentina is very safe for Latin America.

Great food, great architecture, stunning scenery in the South.

Buenos Aires has the sluttiest women on earth, and unlike American sluts most are attractive, but they all have the same weird Uma Thruman haircut.

Asado is amazing too. It's best with provolone and chimichurri.

Good luck.

I had a japanese classmate from exchange here. He got himself a gf and she ended moving to Japan to met his family and maybe marry him

No idea how did it end though

Well, a couple month ago the peso devaluated a lot... so for foreingers the country became about 50% cheaper

But with inflation, is it really cheaper? I paid like 150-200 pesos for a meal in restaurant, so around 10 U$D at that time, how much it is now?

whiter than you mongoloid

The peso devaluated about 90% and the inflation went close to 40%... 90-40 = about 50% cheaper

lol

argies bully you if you have a huge backpavk?

Just don't drive a car with FLK1982 plates and you're fine

>Also it can be surprisingly expensive (restaurant prices are similar to Western European ones), so be prepared for that

Holy shit man, thanks for the info.

Yeah it sounds like a pretty reasonable place for normal people, but the problem is I will have a huge backpack all day and speak little Spanish (reading basic Spanish is OK though)

I did this year for a month, visited Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes, Villa la Angostura.
The best time of the year to go is december, january and february, since this is considered low season in the north emisphere the plane tickets are very cheap, I got a direct flight from Barcelona to Buenos Aires for 600€.
Some places in Buenos Aires can be pretty shitty and dangerous but they are away of the city center, most shitty part is in the conurbano(Great Buenos Aires).
Ask me anything if you want.

>Argentina is very safe for Latin America.

ayy keek.

I lived in Argentina for 6 months, had 0 problems at all. Just don't be a cunt about it. Argentinians love British rock and there's a good chance you'll bond with someone over the Beatles or the Who.

The country as a whole is gorgeous and BA is an exceptional city. Very literary and cultural, go during the city festival if you really want to experience it. I lived in San Isidro which isn't the safest area but still didn't have any problems. Go for a nice steak and malbec or a barbecue grill. The beer isn't great but the wine is heaven. Visit Tigre for a nice day trip. Safety wise: Watch out for dodgy Bolivians and Senegalese, they might give you some hassle. Don't eat any street food.

The North West (near Bolivia and Chile) is quite poor and resembles a mountain/desert climate. You can see some ruins of Andean civilisation and Salta in particular is lovely, as well as Tucuman.

The North West I didn't see much of, but the tristate area with Paraguay and Brazil is home to Iguazu falls which is very beautiful. There are many hostels here and you will have a great time.

The south is gorgeous and a great contrast to the rest of the country, arctic and rugged. Dress accordingly. If you enjoy the outdoors this is the place for you.

Overall, I highly recommend. If an incompetent Brit like me can survive and have a great time there, anyone can.

lol there's an English pub called 'The Gibraltar' in Buenos Aires, I think you'll survive. Just leave your Maggie paraphernalia at home lad.

I've only visited La Plata and Bariloche and both were pretty good from my experience. Though I liked Bariloche a lot more, I found it more comfy to be in since I'm from the South too. Meat was way better in Bariloche too

How true are the Nazi rumours about Bariloche? I heard some Jews were attacked at a nightclub while I was there.

Patagonia is full of nazi descendants

Is it more like random attacks or is there some level of organisation going on? It's interesting, the people are very white as you go down South. Never made it over to Uruguay sadly.

>have Kobe beef in your country
>"I must go to Argentina to taste their beef"
This silliness aside, I'm sure there's an authentic Argentinian restaurant run by an Argie somewhere in Japan.

>comer asado argentino
>en realidad estas comiendo una zapatilla

Like this guy said there's a few cases of neonazi faggotry in both Chile and Argentina. We had a case of some alledged nazis who killed a guy just because he was homosexual, which led to the implementation of the 'Ley Zamudio' back in 2012. I even met someone back in highschool who said he was part of a nazi group.
I can't give you a concrete answer about Bariloche since I never heard anything nazi related during the time I spent there.

Argentina just has a better culinary culture surrounding red meat, by far. Sure Kobe is fucking great, but it's just not the same.

t. tried both in their respective countries

how do you say sacate la mochila in japanese?
