It quite literally does, dumb gommie. What do you think happens to the demand curve when every burger flipper suddenly has twice as much money?

>inflation is not caused by the government printing more money, but when private companies are forced to pay poor people more

Yes but inflation also occurs without increasing wages; see ever western country over the last decade.

>lose the argument in one (1) reply
>erect a strawman
jog on

its a good way to get your hours cut

its a perfectly legit argument, dumb leaf
no strawmanning at all

>I’m poor but here’s why my boss deserves more money!

inflation is caused by more money entering the economic cycle, which increased wages does. long term investment affects it differently.

Do you know what inflation is?
Do you know what deflation is?

and yet, almost every Western country has had lower rates of inflation than the glorious workers' paradise called Venezuela

It doesn't?

Just decrease the CEOs and other executives wages at the same time. Problem solvered.

How do you do that when the CEO has the government AND the people in their pocket?

I’m amazed we went this long without “BUT WHAT ABOUT VUVUZELA”

>le venezuela

Bit of a long bow to stretch there mate. You aren't really blaming hyperinflation on increasing the minimum wage are you? Are you going to say the same for Zimbabwe and post WW1 Germany?

Revolución!

does increasing minimum wage increase the money supply or just redistribute the already circulating money

ding ding ding

B-B-BUT IF MR. SCHAFER CANT BUY A SECOND YACHT HOW WILL OUR ECONOMY STAY AFLOAT??!

Why don't they just lower the minimum wage so everything gets cheaper?

Attached: thonkin emoji.jpg (194x244, 9K)

I mean, our minimum wage is 0$ per hour and it seems to be working out fine over here.

Your cunt also has functioning unions

How do you have non-functioning unions? Do people just gather round and complain?

Shoot the CEO

They’ve been neutered by Republicans to the point that membership is pitiful and they have almost no power.

Literally some states outlaw unions

it increases the circulating money. it takes money from a CEO's swiss bank account and puts it in the greasy hand of a mcdicks employee to swap for weed.

ding ding ding you're a moron

bait

What does inflation mean?

Theres 10 apples
Minimum wage is 1 apple to people employer geta 9 applea raising minimum wage to 5 apples simply makes the worker gain more goods und services

The value of the money decreasing.
Why a hot dog that cost a $0.25 50 years ago now costs $3.25.

Print too much money for example, and that's what happens.

Attached: 1540592294181.gif (295x278, 3.91M)

Inflation is the increase of the money supply thats representing goods and services.

What do you think happens to the supply curve? It's quickly compensated by increased utilization of plant capacity, or if necessary a new plant is built.

Also empirical studies point to the persistent expansion of money supply against production as the real cause of long term inflation.

Attached: C_AK1dUWAAAfOq_.png (1200x960, 233K)

Money has no value except for its supply and that is being used as transactions for goods and services.

Governors literally pass laws that outlaw collective bargaining, then they make it illegal to collect union fees, therefore strangling funding for any form of mass protest or walk out.

If there is 1000 dollaroos each dollaroo would be worth 1/1000ths of the entire economys values of goods and services.

Is there is 10 trillion dollars each dollar represents 1/10 trillion of the entire market.

Well..both
Minimum wage hikes tend to have inflationary pressures based on low income workers propensity to spend money after marginal wage increases. But that doesn't render a minimum wage increases futile.

If supply remains same of goods and the dollar then prices simply will depend on expenditure, if lots of people will buy then prices will be either lower to reduce their supply and gain profits if tonnages of sales or increase prices to reduce total sales and profits.

Really not sure what you are saying

And how will that not end in a massive strike nation wide? Funny thing is that my employer asked me join a union, because they can get massive discounts on education for their wageslaves. So i did.

Most of the time I think people here were intelligent when they talk about historical event I don't know about, but then I suddenly realize how stupid most people here are outside of memeing about historical events:
is correct of course for two reasons

1. Increased minimum wage makes products more expensive, thus devaluing savings (which now can afford less quantities of the same product)
2. Demand for (some) goods will increase, particularly goods that people with low incomes typically demand. is a non-argument. There are just so many groceries any CEO can consume. If you cut a CEO's salary by 1 million Euro and give 1,000 people 1,000 Euro each, chances are these people will buy more hamburgers for example than the CEO would have on his own. This way demand for some products increases and thus increases their price.

Very low iq.
Wanbabe millionaire shill.

Yes. Surely if we give burger flipping delinquents that have no skills and will be replaced by robots in 5-10 years more money there will be no adverse effects.

Inflation wont increase because CEOs arent smart enough to charge more for a hamburger, thats way over their heads, they'll just lie down and accept being paid less, lower earnings, shareholders pullig out, major selloffs, bankruptcies for small businesses that cant afford to pay employees more... all fiction. The negros that make my Big Mac are surely smart enough to put their new found wealth to good use, investing it in our country's future.
I'm a fucking moron
>And how will that not end in a massive strike nation wide?

Because when you have no union funding and that means you have no alternate source of income, and your 40% of your nation can't afford a $400 emergency (forbes.com/sites/zackfriedman/2018/05/24/money-retirement-student-loans/) you're left with a populace that can't really strike because they'll lose their houses.

Also America has a very corporate worshipping culture, just look at people living paycheck to paycheck in borderline squalor rallying against minimum wage increases because it's unfair to their corporate overlords.

Yes you are

Nothing of what I said is false, boot licking shill.

Please point out into which category you think my post and your post fall on this chart.

Devaluing savings is the EFFECT of inflation.

It's not inflation.

You fucking retarded kraut. And that fucking leaf is a retard as well. What's the world come to when the amerifat is correct?

Average chocolate bars like snickers are now $2 here

Your post is false therefore your post belongs in the false category and mines in a descriptor.

Hamburger economics

Sounds like a lot, but its 1.2eur which about what we pay. Your monopoly money always throws me

>the effect of inflation occurs without inflation occuring
Untermensch, you are an ass hat

Isn't America the place where people think forced tipping is okay and that supplementing people with food stamps instead of a decent wage when they work for billion dollar businesses like Walmart is okay and that everyone can be a CEO if they just "try harder"?

Attached: 1528914683867.jpg (245x246, 13K)

>Yfw a worker would rather disparage his fellow workers and fuck himself over just to defend billion ceos and executives because he thinks he'll be one one day

Attached: 1528668873391.jpg (300x400, 53K)

Different cause, different solution.

Isn't Britain the country that hordes large stacks of gold while half the country's infrastructure looks like the 4th century B.C.?

We should just give everyone exactly the same wage. Allowing the CEO to earn 101% as much as a regular worker would be a cuck thing to do.

But here the employers are also unionized. Even small businesses are part of one. Is that not the case in America? No one is in an union? They just leave it to the government to set a living wage?

No, in America unions are not at all tied to an employer for the government. They are standalone, personally run groups that basically run by trying to capture all of a companies employees into the group as fast as possible so they gain bargaining power before the company can respond, and now the union can cripple the company by striking.

Companies, especially in "right to work" states (Can be fired legally for ANY reason or no reason) will often fire employees they ever heard discussing unionizing to prevent it from happening.

Apparently, though I don't know why people always jump to wages. Not being fired over nothing is the real benefit of a union. At least in Sweden we have very strict rules on who is to be let go and you need an extremely good reason to fire somebody. Since you have job security you form a bond to your job instead of having to fake loyalty.

>in Sweden we have very strict rules on who is to be let go and you need an extremely good reason to fire somebody
Wow, I want to start a business in Sweden now, where I run risk of bankrupting myself a few years from now because I can't possibly get rid of people costing me 50k Euro a year but I no longer have any use for

That's interesting. Completely different.

The most important thing for my work is safety laws that unions pushed hard for in the past. People died for doing unnecessary insane shit, because companies tried to save some €. It's now a crime.

Attached: proxy.duckduckgo.com.jpg (922x612, 228K)

As we all know Sweden is a new country formed today so clearly it doesn't have decades of these laws in action proving that your imaginary scenario doesn't happen.

Stop memeing. This is not how it works.

You moronic sausage, read my post. I said WHO is to be let go, not IF they're to be let go. Elsewhere you can get fired because your boss doesn't like your attitude.

How long ago was that?

youre so far gone its beyond pathetic

I work for an international company in europe and canada and the us. this exact thing happened in our belgium office. its not a meme. its sketchy af how much power employees have there

>its sketchy af how much power employees have there

Ok Goldstein, hail corporate!

in Germany it is how it works. Lots of old people are clearly overpaid for the kind of low value added work they do but the company can't get rid off them as long as they are still making a profit (on the backs of the more productive employees),
When they do start turning in deficits, it will still be hard to cut costs by firing these kind of people. I don't have sources, but it's not that hard to imagine how this situation makes business owners lose a lot of money. I imagine Sweden (and also Canada and the Netherlands) to have similar laws.

Based, maybe if we had prices like those here we’d have less fatties (myself included)

*your

Inflation is what happens when you blow air into the aperture of a balloon and it increases in volume due to the resulting air pressure.

Who are you quoting?

>How long ago was that?
In the 80's and 90's it became the law after so many incidents. People were pressured to go into bulk ships without safety gear. Because little time and man the fuck up. Or climb a 50m ladder on a slippery deck. Weeee! If you look at it now it seems ridiculous, but it did happen all the time.

(You)

Imagine being this dumb
