A capitol is a building where a legislature sits, it's not an American spelling of capital (city where the government is located) although the words are often confused, especially since non-Americans usually don't call their legislative buildings capitols.

This is the capitol building of the State of Wisconsin. It contains both the State Senate (equal representation) and the State Assembly (proportional representation), the Office of the Governor the state Supreme Court. It is 101 years old and the 5th building to serve its purpose.
