yo wtf this is NOT ok
>murdering civilians
what the FUCK!? that's only okay when japan and germany does it!
What was the difference between this and a bombing by conventional methods that made is so much worse exactly?
it killed fewer people than the tokyo fire bombings iirc.
I guess it caused more long-term health effects, though.
wtf I hate america now
The good goys won
I unironically wish those animals (americans) were killed
youtube.com
based boomers defending america and liberty
I mean, it kinda holds way less impact when you realize it would have happened in like 1/20th the time.
Gotta drag that shit out for dramatic effect.
you mean nanking festival ?
mygrandfa enjoyed that festival when he was 21 , he said DJ masato was nice to play a music tho ~

Shoulda finished the job
love how tards fresh off the boat from Jow Forumseddit always cry about this and dresden when the tokyo firebombings and hamburg were far worse
that's so mean... america ?
or Nagasaki
Because normally when you bomb, you bomb industries and hospitals and usualy at night to keep the death count low.
Ameruca just bombed a whole city mid day.
Hiroshima had a lot of military supply warehouses, imperial fleet HQ and one of the biggest Japanese harbors.
>Japanese people discriminate against nuke survivors
Why are they so heartless?
en.wikipedia.org
A lot of gooks died in those nukes
Besides the civilians, that bomb killed the equivalent of two divisions of Japanese troops. That alone makes it fucking worth dropping.
This is East Asia we're talking about. That which is different from the norm is considered bad, full stop.
>Precision bombing
>In 1945.
You know it wasn't like your video games where you get a little sight to pick targets out. It wasn't at all uncommon for bombers to hit the wrong city and even the wrong country, never mind the wrong target.
>us finished the war quickly and efficiently
>hur dur that's unacceptable
>Because normally when you bomb, you bomb industries and hospitals
All of the five nominated Japanese cities that were considered to be nuked all had major wartime industrial sectors
Hiroshima simply had the most bang for its buck by also being a major military headquarters, hosting a large military presence and being the general communications and sea logistic hub of Southern Japan.
Don't talk to me
>swede crying again
The Americans knew they would win the war, it was only a matter of time. They also knew that the Emperor would agree to peace negotiations in principle. Even before the atomic bombs, the Americans had completely destroyed dozens of cities and murdered millions.
They only wanted to test the atomic bombs before the war was over. The military usability of the targets was only a pretended argument.
In this context it is also interesting how the Americans reported about the bombs, from the end of the war until today. After the end of the war the bombs did not find any special mention and in the course of time the focus shifted further and further to the fact that without atom bombs the war would not have been won so fast, or at least only with very very high own numbers of victims
b-but america is supposed to be good!!
this
It's cathartic. Literally a big fireworks finale to the biggest meat grinder of human history.
Thing is, the US begged Japan to surrender. "We have a terrible new weapon and we don't want to use it," something to that effect. They warned the civilians to leave days in advance.
The Japanese leadership, in their hubris thought it was a bluff. They called it, and it wasn't a bluff. The first bomb fell, and again the US begged Japan to surrender.
"They can't possibly have another one of those," said the leadership.
The US dropped the second bomb. Japan surrendered unconditionally.
It wasn't just hurr durr let's merk some japos. The US was fighting an enemy that would have fought them to the last man because the Japanese's arrogance wouldn't let them concede. There's only one way to address an opponent like that.
what.. the.. fuck...
i hate usa now
I want to not be the not the helicopter absconder but right before on the propeller
>when the tokyo firebombings was far worse
i don't know in what light you jumped to this conclusion but the casualties of Hiroshima were simply way larger by another 50000

What a load of crap it didnt matter what the emperor wanted he wasnt in charge, Okinawa taught us the Japs would still through everything at us, we estimated 1 million deaths to defeat Japan and take the islands, we already tested a nuke, we wanted to keep Russia from pulling a Korea in Japan after they didnt fight them for the whole war, most telling about them not willing to surrender the Japanese didnt believe a single weapon caused Hiroshima and came up with mental gymnastics to explain it, etc.
You're right about the fire bombings though which eclipsed the nukes in deaths and destruction.
The apolitical emperor was a meme m8.
there used to be a video with this mashed up with spongebobs best day ever which i liked, too bad it got deleted for some reason
Morally? Bad
Politically? Absolutely justified, Japs were given multiple warnings, refused to surrender, continued committing atrocities while denying previous crimes, planned on sending children suicide squads and what not and would have dragged millions of people into further conflict. Faggots could have prevented this
