Ah, '82.
*cracks open a fresh Monster energy drink*
Good times.
*sips*
Those days aren't coming back.

A lot New York used to be a shithole of incredible scale.
Good times.

How so? I can't be surprised that the US looked/looks like that because my country is a developing country?

>I can't be surprised that the US looked/looks like that because my country is a developing country?

Yes, this is the logic of the average Jow Forums user.

wut? I literally just asked a question. You're the one who took offense. I'm just trying to understand your logic...

>ywn hangout with your delinquent gang of bros in 70s-90s NYC ala the warriors

>da Bwonx then

>this is what happens when DEMONRATS run a major city

Oh great it's a partisan shitflinging episode.

This is what happens when:

1. NY city planners decide to run an expressway through a residential neighborhood
2. NY city planners think they can solve housing crises with commieblocks
3. Banks and realtors blacklisting an entire neighborhood of people
4. Gutting of fire and police budgets to serve the richer neighborhoods instead
5. 40% of buildings in South Bronx burnt to the ground by landlords greedy for insurance money

And that's why the Jews all live in LA now

Actual historical points instead of scapegoating the opposite party? It's a miracle!

This is what a lot of urban youth in Europe idolise.

>gentrification is ba-

A nation should be selected to migrate there and reignite life and change the city like the italians and irish did

How did they fix New York City?

youtube.com/watch?v=M6iEopZ4RAY
Not me, but I used to have to drive through these parts of Philly for work.
Vid is a good example of what large portions of Philly look like.

This is literally worst than the worst places in The Bronx. The fuck is wrong with Philly?

what a depressing looking place

youtube.com/watch?v=1NBVQB-Srpw

Ah yes, west Philadelphia where I was born and raised

>The fuck is wrong with Philly?
heavy poverty, and parts of the city are in the middle of gentrifying, so what's funny is there are parts that look like this right next to brand new," luxury apartment complexes with paved, new sidewalks

Attached: GRrW9kG.jpg (1068x622, 197K)

I didn't know Philly had any kind of significant Asian population

How dare you insult a local neighbourhood relator and car salesman. He just sells homes and cars. And you tryna' call him a pusher? Naw.

so what happens after it gets gentrified? The poor people go to an even poorer place or something?

youtube.com/watch?v=NDe13n_WpQA

There are still places like that. Gary, Indiana; Detroit, Michigan; Jackson, Mississippi; among others

These factors are all true, but the crime wave caused by the introduction of crack cocaine and subseequent flight of the middle class/white flight was just as much of a factor

broken windows policing, honestly

I don't know about philly, but in New York, the poor who got gentrified out have moved to the middle/lower-middle class suburbs nearby

I grew up in a middle class suburb of NYC which is still okay, but definitely not as good as it was in the 90s. Still very little crime, but it is being economically depressed.

if memory serves there were great fires in some of those neighborhoods in the 70s.

the scars of 70s new york took ages to get rid of.
