Karelians don't really exist anymore in Finland except in the South Karelia province(North Karelians are not Karelians). Even I'm just 3/4 but most are 1/4 because evacuees assimilated into the regions they were settled.
Since half of Finns have Karelian partial ancestry these days Finland is the Karelian ethnostate.
East Karelians are a different thing and are basically Russians now.
