Newt Gingrich successfully destroyed the United States in the 90s, you're just living on the downward part of the slope.

Is it me or does it seem stupid that judges are elected anyway, I mean I don't know anything about them when I vote and generally just pick one with the funniest name

I just leave it blank if I don’t know their policies
I thought that’s what everyone did?

It's so weird how much power judges have in America.

Partisanship is an unfortunate reality of life sometimes but the hyper partisan "Burn the country to the ground if you lose" type i Gingrich's invention.

I've always thought it's a good idea but can you have someone as a judge who has no academic jurisprudence background? Or someone who hasn't passed the bar?

Judges are non-partisan but no one really researches them which means they normally receive an extremely small amount of votes.
Here’s an example of a sample ballot in my state.
The judges would be listed on the back.

>but can you have someone as a judge who has no academic jurisprudence background?

Almost all states require a Juris Doctor degree to be elected as a judge.

Ironically, the Supreme Court does not require any form of law degree, it only requires that you pass the Bar exam which is actually not that hard if you just do a bit of research (Far less than would be required to get a Law degree)

Based. But was that only AGs and county attorney?

why are drumpfkins so evil?
