Because you're either looking at a dark green tree, a grey sky, or a grey building. It's really pretty but it doesn't give you an optimistic outlook on things.

That's Santiago, the capital. Wonderful town, I used to live nearby and will hopefully be moving there next year. They just got done restoring the facade of the cathedral, too.
