"If there were a button I could press, I would sacrifice myself without hesitating, if it meant millions of people would die."
based
Literally who
“What to do, when a ship carrying a hundred passengers suddenly capsizes and there is only one lifeboat? When the lifeboat is full, those who hate life will try to load it with more people and sink the lot. Those who love and respect life will take the ship's axe and sever the extra hands that cling to the sides.”
Why did I have to take this pill
>Linkola blames humans for the continuous degradation of the environment. He promotes rapid population decline in order to combat the problems commonly attributed to overpopulation.
>Linkola believes that democracy is a mistake and only radical change can prevent ecological collapse.[2] He contends that the human populations of the world, regardless if they are developed or underdeveloped, do not deserve to survive at the expense of the biosphere as a whole.
sounds based to me
Top shelf based desu
Oh, also, to add: No, I'm not going to read this shitty brainlet's books, but the quote I posted was pretty funny.
>shitty
>brainlet
You harbor these retarded opinions because you haven't read his work.
get out of here
Prove to me that the earth can't recover from man's damage.
It can recover but why continue to harm it simply due to the fact it can recover over time? And how much damage it can recover from? We need drastic decline of the Earth's population, with each new baby born the value of human life decreases. What is destroying nature isn't gonna stop, industry is not gonna stop destroying nature, if the destruction of nature meant some people would get paid it is not gonna stop.
man, the years have not been kind to moot
The following years wont be kind on anyone.
And what do you propose "we" do?
In most developed nations, most people have realized already that they're not supposed to shit baby after baby.
The problem is one of turning back on technological progress then. But how do you do that? On a mass scale. I don't think it's doable without wiping out (I mean forcibly) most people on earth, and you know that shit ain't flying nowadays
"We" are not likely to live past our 90s at best.
That's not enough time for the world to be fucked beyond repair.
Most of the better options are indeed ain't about to fly in this day and age and that will be the end of it, and no we might not see it, but our descendants will. There is very little stopping that train.
so basically do what you can to live your life as best as you can and that's that.
Look, I understand the sentiment, but I'm a pragmatic man. What can I, as a lone guy with medium income who was also raised in this shitty system do? I intend to live out in the countryside eventually, maybe have my own garden filled with my fruits/veggies that I grow on my own, and have some chickens to provide eggs/meat. But that's all I can do.
I hope for the best but expect the worst.
Fun fact: Kaczynski sent a letter to Linkola asking if the Finnish environmentalists had understood the relation between technology and destruction of the environment but Pentti never replied
And that is the sad truth of this grey, claustrophobic modern world. I wish for nature to reap down the numbers and I will do that wishing from the countryside north of the modern cesspit.
Goodluck on whatever level of off-grid you end up on Brazilbro.
Linkola don't speak too much English does he?
i wonder why. It's not as if Linkola was wary of controversy to begin with
Don't know. Saw an interview where he said he has started to loathe it lately because it's everywhere.
It's hard to find his stuff translated, I might be half Finnish but my Finnish is poor at best, my grandfather taught me a bit but he speaks what they call "Old Finnish" as he left Finland for work in like 1965.
He has never harmed anyone, though. He's just grumpy and edgy.
On the contrary, he's done a lot of good.
He's done a fuckton of ornithology which has helped a lot of biologists in Finland, and he founded this luonnonperintosaatio.fi
I know a guy who donated a forest.
Thanks.
Good luck on whatever you end up doing too.
I've never been to Sweden but judging from videos and pics the north seems like a majestic place. Hopefully it's preserved for the future.
I can only hope my beautiful Norrland isn't defiled much further.
>mfw im slowly becoming increasingly radicalised into anti-capitalist, anti-civilisation, anti-technology, anti-liberal thought
The other day I realised written language outside of economic data was a mistake, even detrimental to society, perhaps. Which is odd considering I read and appreciate fiction, the height of the wrongness with written language.
