There's more than one "New Zealand accent" though, that's why people all say "We don't say fush" in the Youtube comments.
The whole "Fush and Chups" thing is largely the lower class urban Maori accent. Kind of how black Americans don't sound all that similar to white Americans.
Nobody from outside the country can tell the difference though. I've been told I'm British, Australian and American when overseas. Nobody ever guesses New Zealand :(
