What's the best non STEM degree?
What's the best non STEM degree?
Law
Why? Isn't law degree by itself pretty useless unless you go to law school?
Accounting or actuary
Garbage. I was 50/50 on going this route. I'm glad I didn't.
It is STEAM don't forget ART you fucking white male.
Business if you are good looking
Really? Why do you think those are trash? I'm Mech E so I have no bias here.
computer science
Actuaries usually hold math bachelors, if you think they are the same as accountants you are dead wrong. Advanced probability goes into some aids "pure math" concepts
Welding
compared to what I decided to pursue, accounting is:
>monotonous
>lower salary
>more stressful
>less prestige

Liberal arts degree is useless
African studies
You're right, I was thinking of the actuarial science degree itself, apparently many actuaries just have math degrees or something because you have to take a bunch of exams.
Accounting / CPA (with a focus on accounting-anchored valuations) + Economics (dual degree or by selecting appropriate electives)
Then learn python.
Congratulations, you are an unicorn, now.
Arts don't create shit that's usefull
Those actuary exams are hard and nontrivial. They usually have math bachelors since you need to have math major knowledge to pass the tests
Yeah I didn't know that. I knew a few guys who got the actuarial science degree and they didn't seem very bright, but apparently the degree doesn't really matter, the exams are all that matters and they're hard.
How hard is it to learn python? What would you say is the minimum I.Q?

Bringing up actuary is dumb as hell, that is just a specific math degree. Actuary means you are taking usually 3 semesters of calculus and a bunch of probability and Stat courses.
Honestly act Sci major is a terrible choice, because it is built for one super competitve job, but you don't need an actuary degree to even get that job. If you even consider this go with statistics or something. Then if you decide you don't want that you still have options.
