Germany was divided at the end of ww2 aswell, the allies united their parts and both the allies and the soviets rearmed them. Real politics triumphs over senseless plans to destroy an major power permanently. And eventually the chance for reunification comes. The only way to prevent it is forced assimilation and genocide. The partition of Germany was mostly about weakening it so that it could never challenge France again. Denmark had a logical claim to Schleswig-Holstein since it was in their possession right up until 1864, but I wouldn't say the same thing applies to the Netherlands and East Frisia. Of course, if you had taken part in the war, it would have been another matter.
