It businessman Björn SUndeby has gotten the green light to build a house in classical 19th century style in central Växjö. The ruling has made swedens architects infuriated. they are accusing the project of being "regressive", reports SVT nyheter Småland.
- I don't get why architects want buildings to be ugly boxes, says Björn
is pic related what he wants to build? why do swedish architects dislike 19th century houses?
Landon Perez
>The ruling has made swedens architects infuriated. they are accusing the project of being "regressive", reports SVT nyheter Småland. I would listen to their argumentation why 19th century houses are regressive, and ugly ass boxes are not, but probably they have none and are just whiny babies.
Charles Bailey
yes, it's just an example image of ugly architecture
Why do they think they have the right to tell this guy what he's allowed to build with his own money?
Thomas Thompson
a retarded building in an important area of a city can easily ruin the whole aesthetic so I get why they have to get it approved
Blake Ortiz
>Why do they think they have the right to tell this guy what he's allowed to build with his own money? they were complaining to the council with a letter writing campaign. at the end of the day it's up to that council to approve new buildings in central areas.
Nathaniel Robinson
How on earth could anyone object to that style as "regressive"? It's beautiful. I'm an art deco man myself, but that definitely has a nice aesthetic.
Parker Cruz
because this is what they want. one of the architects complaining made this
No, I don't. Not to sound Jow Forumsitical but I don't "get" modern art.
Nathan Gomez
ahh my first minecraft house sweet memories

For whatever reason in our countries it's very normal for architects to come up with the most ridiculous shit and receive praise from other architects. In the Netherlands there's an architectural marvel named 'Almere' you should check out if you feel like gouging your eyes out.
The old buildings have a good atmosphere, but when it comes to construction technology they're really simple and boring. Combine the two and you have a real winner.
Jordan Peterson
>building in a dead b**mer style ISHYGDDT based sweden
Dylan Powell
Dude, what the fuck.
Good, I hope he builds 2.
Isaac Russell
Based and redpilled. Design that has stood the test of time is best. You can experiment with cheap things but not buildings.
Eli Jackson
Keep on the good work. I'd love to see some buildings being (re)built in this style in my city again, because that'd definitely make us different from other Dutch cities.
How about combining that with a dystopian sci-fi design? I mean someone has got to start the process so that we can get to the depressing building designs of the 2100s.
Jason Wood
The real redpill is good comfy city planning > good architechture. If i had to pick just one i would pick good people designed cities over suburbia even if all individual houses were of good architechture in suburbia. But the best is both of them
Brayden Sanders
I'm a brutalist lover myself and this shit is wimpy as fuck. Only fags like these eco-friendly wooden boxes. Looks like a literal cuck shed. Power is found in brute concrete, the strong hands of Man over his Kingdom.

>architect >flat roof >in a country where it snows all the time
