Most of Nazi Germany's internal policies that are perceived as "evil" by todays standards were also done in the US at the same time. Many US states had laws against race mixing, segregation with blacks was obviously the norm and they openly talked about eugenics. The only thing Nazi Germany did additionally was persecuting Jews, but then again they certainly were by no means the first to do so in the history of Europe. The Ashkenazi Jews experienced a bottleneck to around 400 people in the Middle Ages.
