To be honest, many parts of Germany don't really have winter, but instead three extra months of November, which is the worst month. It's the same in western Norway.
At least here in the east we almost always get snow cover from December to March, with lots of sunny days.

Some days you love it some days you hate it. Not a big fan when its 0 +/-5 C, rather it be -10. The snow is crispy, air feels brisk. You get used to it. I find when the temp hovers around 0 +/- 2C the air is more moist and theres an increased chance freezing rain will occur - which is the worst. Also, colder weather makes for better snowboarding/skiing cuz other people flee the hills.

It looks very nice in the winter, the carpathian mountain view is very beautiful, the air is cleaner and the nature is gorgeous. I recommend finding a good house in a small rural community if you want to have a good time in the winter. Winter in the rest of the country means getting sick, slipping on ice, and very dirty snow everywhere.

Both winter an summer have unpleasant weathers but with winter it's only annoying outside. Summer is like 2 months of pure hell no matter where you are.
