this is what defines a nation? there are regions of Germany that are just as different from each other as they are from Austrians, the same goes for many Latin American countries, Australia and New Zealand, Finland and Estonia, some regions of China are so different they can't even understand each other when they talk and they still speak the same language.
conversely, there are many countries that have different regions with different languages and habits, like in Spain you have Galicia, Cataluña, Euskadi and the rest of the country, they're different """nations""", the same goes for the UK, Russia, Canada, India, etc.
