Hey Jow Forums, just a quick question;
What happens to the price of gold when they mine a meteor that has about 100 tonnes of gold in it?

Friendly reminder only Commies and retards invest/"hedge" in metals

they shoot rockets into the ocean and play cgi, space is funny

the gold industry will rapidly grow as more and more uses for gold are discovered. the price of gold remains the same or increases as the industry expands. Case in point: All wiring is now made out of pure gold, making it far more efficient than copper.

realistically gold not worth jack shit. It's only worth anything because we have a limited supply here on earth. This goes for EVERYTHING in the universe. The only thing that's actually worth a damn would likely be life itself.

Smart answer, what are you doing in biz/???? Asking for a friend...

Wont happen for a very long time. Also the immense labour and resource expenditure required to extract gold from a fucking meteor and bring it to earth means that the price would hardly be affected by an increase in supply.

>They make a wire out of pure gold, much efficiency wow
>Hey guys look at this really energy efficient wiring we got, that'll be "insert current price of gold*amount of gold used plus manufacturing cost" lolfuckno.jpeg
> They have to charge less in order to sell more, they can afford to sell for less as they have a literal fuck tonne of gold.

~3000 tonnes of gold are mined every year, 100 tonnes is a droplet, especially when the price of mining is high
