Cryptogames? Worthwhile?

I've recently gotten involved in cryptocurrencies and I saw some people announcing cryptogames, like CryptoRome and CryptoBarons (there may be more but these are the two I've heard of). I was told they're offering free "land" and/or their own in-game currency that's worth real etherium for players to get started. Obviously, I already signed up and got the free eth, but I'm curious if anybody knows anything about this concept/these individual games, and can it be a good/fun way to invest in cryptocurrencies?

cryptocities.net is a fun one and has a shitload of potential.

I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the info. How about c-rome and c-barons? you know anything about them?

(check'd)
That's just a hotpoatoe game though isn't it?

Not sure what hotpoatoe game is. Care to elaborate?

no it's different. once you buy your town/city it's yours to trade at whatever price you want. every location produces "Gold", and you can battle to win more territories to earn more "Gold" per day. The longterm aim for the developer is to eventually turn this Gold into a token on the eth network. Countries on the other hand, are not yours indefinitely. They can be bought off you at a 15% increase whenever someone wants. So I guess that part is a little more "hot potato"ish but it's not pyramid-like at all. In the future other games will incorporate cryptocities data, and there are lots of plans to introduce building acquisitions and other stuff. I currently own Windsor.

How do the battles and all that work? Like how does it determine who wins?

Interesting. Would it be fair to compare it to the diceroll of games such as Europa Universalis IV? That's the impression I got from reading that.

It's kinda difficult to explain without trying it for yourself. Basically you battle with nearby locations for nearby territories. You have various scores for different things and it's a game of odds. You can win/lose gold depending on the outcome of battles. As well as obviously winning/not winning territories.

I really don't know anything about those games sorry

Damn. Well maybe I'll check out the one you were describing. I just really don't want to get spread out across a lot of different games. Maybe that'll be the best way to go about it though?

So it's like a lite version of cryptoRome?
Damn that would be a cut-throat game... EUIV on the blockchain... Though I think CK2 would be an easier flip as it is broken down into baronies. If only CryptoBarons was like that, but then when people became counts they'd complain about the name... Well, there's room for all types of strategy games. I'm really curious how CryptoBarons will be, with an RTS you can cash out of.

Eu4 or ck2 on the blockchain - like the actual games as they exist on the blockchain... That would be crazy. Wasn't quite what I meant, but it'd be more fun, I think.

Threres also a winemaking minigame that will allow you to fuel your armies with the actions you do now.

Yeah I've played that a little bit. I never fully understood what it's for, but it's cool.

play.blockwars.live is playable again now that gas prices are back down.

Risk type game

Right now it's mostly just something to idly do and a market to play. Some people have been trading grapes and wine already as if it were any coin on an exchange.

it's hard to say, i think they'll be very different games. the objective for cryptorome seems more laid in stone though i guess.

Go back to your shitty discord filthy pajeets.

That was unnecessarily rude.

imo ethereum games need to be either super simple (kitties, dice games, snails, pyramids) or fairly advanced to succeed. those semi-complex games are too complex to be open to proper P/L management, and not appealing enough compared to proper games (they look like cheap mobile f2p stuff)
when scaling is solved through stuff like loom network, and we see a hearthstone clone on ethereum with sub-second confirmation times, that's when you'll see complex games take off
once money is involved, you can't eyeball game balance the way you do it in normal video games. either it has to be airtight, or your presentation needs to be so overwhelming money takes a backseat

No it wasn't rude at all. You faggots are shilling shit that was dead for months already.

okay you need to calm down.

Game is run by actual Nigers and norsemen, not pajeets. This bunch actually have loos to poo in.

The main cryptogaming community where you can find all sorts of games is cryptogaming.surge.sh

No i don't need to calm down, you need to fuck off.

Fuck off faggot. Stop trolling my thread.

Is there actually a pajeet crypto game?

surge?
